I hope your right. But, I used to hear the same thing about tool and die jobs also. All the old toolmakers were gonna be retiring...the demand would be HUGE.... still waiting on that one too. There are plenty of people who want to drive trucks. The shortage is finding people that will put up...

I see the problem with sensitive freight. The 30 minute break should not be a problem for anyone else though. With any rule, there should be exceptions made for obvious and important conflicts with reality.

You are correct, I doubt that it will change either. My guess is that the carriers who do this know very well what they are doing and profit from it more than most understand. But, my point still stands. There is no driver shortage...at this time. There is however a shortage of carriers worth...

Well, that was kind of dissappointing. More of the same stuff we've been seeing for a few months now. They did have the dimensions in feet and inches...lol. Hey, that's an improvement! Hopefully they will begin adding some important stuff to that link soon...like maybe...prices?? lol

My contract verizon phone ain't all that great in WKY either. It does get signal usually, but not a great one. Might as well forget data service on 65 in KY with Verizon.

The only way that can be called a driver shortage is if that load doesn't get covered in some other way. I would guess that those empty trucks have more to do with decreased demand than driver shortage. The deal with people talking about empty trucks at a terminal gets blown waaaay out of...
