    What are some solutions?

I just found out that one of the companies I work for only pays on the original bill of ladings. I faxed in the paperwork on a dual run from Detroit to Kansas City w/ a $25 add on in Indiana. Now, thru my own fault I lost one of the copies. I'm glad it was only the $25 portion of it. So in...

    Which would be safer?

This is a Q for the bigger trucks. I've read the speed limit debate (trucks having same speed limits as cars) & can see both sides of it. I realize no one in Washington really seems to care about truckers, but work w/ me here please on this Q. I'm also not sure what the exact HOS hours are...

    Truckstop showers

This is a bit off the subject of driving but could be just as important for you or your hub/wife at home. It is on this same topic though. Vacuum cleaners, where ya have the filters ya have to clean.. often have millions of micro organisms on them. So if you have to clean those, ya may want...

    September Location

I don't have internet on the road. This week I went to Kansas City, Omaha, & Wall, South Dakota. I misunderstood the details on the last one or I would have passed on it. It's one of those runs I wish I'd brought my camera on though.

    A possible solution

Dear Employee: As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%. But since we cannot...

    11' 8"....

I'm guessing you already know, but just in case ya didn't. Make sure you go get the Speedway Gift card charged up & then use that card to fill your tanks. Don't just use the Rewards card while paying w/ cash or credit card. Again, I'm figuring ya already know. But just want to be sure. I...

    Verizon MiFi

Gas milage on a 1 ton ext Ford?

Dennis, That sounds like a pretty neat set up you have & something along the lines of what I'm interested in. I guess I'm on the right track removing the passenger seat. No one rides there anyway. You have the 1 ton w/ the extra room. What I'm wondering now is how long can you sit until...

????S About leasing with two companies

Some good points there. I don't have an answer on the random drug test except to tell them I'm on a run for the other company. As for the accident, the insurance company knows about multiple companies. I got the policy w/ that in mind & they know upfront. As for the police, ya just tell...

????S About leasing with two companies

Actually you can if the companies will allow it. I'm doing just that, albeit w/ not so great results. 2 companies, 0 runs in 2 weeks. In full disclosure I was out of service for 3 days & did have 1 run offer, but couldn't take it. Still, not a lot of work between the 2 companies. Maybe...

Gas milage on a 1 ton ext Ford?

Well, I was looking at straight trucks. Research has kind of steered me away from them at the moment. By that I mean talking to some ST owners, dispatch at the companies I work for, lack of parking threads on here, etc. If I decide on a ST afterall, I would work for an owner first. But my...

Gas milage on a 1 ton ext Ford?

Hi, Would anyone know the approx. gas milage on either the 1 ton Ford extended vans? The government sites don't list it & I haven't been able to find it in a search on here. I get 17-18 highway on my 250, so am guessing the 350 would be around 14-15. So if anyone has an E-350 extended van...

    Class 7 vs Class 8

In another thread Greg said something about getting a class 8 w/ a liftgate. I see all the time things that refer to "class 8" but don't get exactly what the difference between a class 7 & class 8 is. Is it something that has to do w/ the age of the vehicle? Or maybe certain features on a...

    Hello

I'm not sure how that rates to used 2008's. I'm guessing it's a good deal though. Just make sure ya realize you're prolly in the ballpark of a $700 payment & maybe $350 insurance. So ya need to make $1500/month (figuring the gas to get that $1050 included) before you get to see anything for...

I get bored easy, do you?

ok, I'll show lack of humor, complete dufasness (if that's a word) & actually answer what he meant in his original post. I can not top the replies already given. The last time around I basically sat there & was bored. Occasionally I'd do something in the town I was in. Occasionally...

I-75 closed at 9 mile in Hazel Park, MI

Mile Marker 60. If you're coming north Ya have until exit 59 to get off a 8 Mile Road. Obviously you're pushing it as I've got to believe traffic will be bottlenecked by that time. If you're heading Southbound ya can go to 696 & I'd think traffic would flow just fine.

    Gas Price Thread?

Hey all, I'm not sure if this has been tried or not. I realize fuel prices are down from last year, but it's still a pretty large % of our operating budget. What was wondering if anyone was interested in starting a thread of where they filled up & how much it was per gallon. Say on Thurs...

    Any thoughts on this?

Sorry Doug, there's no way you can put something like that up & not have people think something political. As to what Cheri said, in terms of numbers of recipients yes there are more who receive that are handicapped, elderly, etc. In terms of $$$ spent though, there's a LOT more corporate...
