This one happened on the PA turnpike near Donegal, about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh. Driver Killed In Turnpike Tour Bus Crash ID'd - News Story - WPXI Pittsburgh Once again, an early morning crash involving a driver who'd been rollin' all night. Only he was killed, but 23 passengers were...

    Question

Don't know about Aimster, but for me it boils down to this: I can't GET a medical card, because my right eye doesn't correct to 20/40. I tried to get the vision waiver from the FMCSA, but they turned me down. Reason? Because I wasn't ALREADY driving CMVs!! WTF??

    Problem with van

If GM can't help you, try to find a trusted, independent transmission shop to assist you. I had a shudder at 35-45 mph in my Ford van, a '94 with an E4OD. My mechanic wanted to put a Jasper in, and just about any chain tranny shop will sell you a rebuild job for $2000+. I ended up taking the van...

    About Leaving FedEx Custom Critical

Mazel Tov, Phil and Diane, and good luck! So the Fed gave you 10 day's notice? Well, they wouldn't have given you a pizza run after that, so thank God you were ready to go! Just the same, I will leave you with a thoroughly fractured Irish proverb: "may ye be at Landstar a half hour before...

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

I'm a noob, so take this with a grain of salt, but: Is the Fed trying to save money by replacing high-value, high-cost expediters like Phil & Diane with LTL drivers? One team in a tractor can pull a trailer with twice the capacity of a straight truck, and deliver the load in pretty much the...

    Texting in Indiana

Well, most of what I've seen when it comes to texting & cell phone tickets has been in NYC. One of my coworkers got a $125 ticket for using the push-to-talk button on his Nextel. In the years Michael Bloomberg has been mayor, revenue enhancement by the police and parking authority has been...

Do straight trucks have to stop at weigh stations

True! :) But I was talking about the ones between 10 and 26K. They're the ones who used to slip by because the cops assumed they were being driven by Ma & Pa; the Kettles are not operating in interstate commerce. Now, however, they've had to wise up and have a look just to be sure. Don't...

Gastric Bypass a possible cure for diabetes?

Diet and exercise are the best solutions to controlling diabetes, as well as strict compliance to your medical regimen. Only problem is, in the words of five young Marines in 1963, it's YouTube - ‪Easier said than done - The Essex - HD‬‏

Do straight trucks have to stop at weigh stations

To some extent, I think it depends what the cops are looking for. For years, U-Hauls, Penskes, and other DIY-mover trucks have been able to sail past the chicken coops without raising an eyebrow. Now, they're getting pulled in because Smokey knows people without authority are trying to slip past...

Maintenance Cost For a 2004 Sprinter in 400k miles

Skyraider, is yours a 318 or a 360? I had a '99 with a 360 and if I got 16 mpg it was a miracle. Even with the cruise set to 65 I'd get 14.5 at best; 'course I was driving thru Jersey, where the usual speed is 55 in the right lane and 80 in the left. Has your cruise control died yet? Mine...

    Texting in Indiana

Some states, especially back East where I live, consider sitting at a stoplight to be "moving" for the purpose of issuing texting and/or hand-held-cell-phone tickets. Since your foot is on the brake and your vehicle is in Neutral* or Drive, you're not officially stopped. Best way to handle this...

own authority straight truck pay when dealing with agents

I'm not sure Southern is a guy at all. In the lesbian culture, a "boi" is a person who tries to act and appear as a young teen boy; someone who may turn butch, or even bull as she grows older. How do I know this? I learned some funky stuff while working in Manhattan.... That and Google ;)...

Gastric Bypass a possible cure for diabetes?

I'm a Type 2. I agree that losing weight and exercising is a better, and hella cheaper way to control diabetes. Bypass surgery is an option, though, so why not consider it if you've found it hard to lose the weight. I doubt I'd go through with it; Lord knows I can't afford it! BTW, Type One...

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

? I agree that a driver should be loyal to the company that signs his or her check, but there are limits. Only my God and my wife get my unalterable fidelity. Just about any company out there looks after its own best interests with little thought to those of its workers; even stockholders don't...
