That other thread about Laredo had me thinking, what other major cities or areas have you guys had bad luck getting anything going back out and constantly had to deadhead out? I want to start being more picky about the loads i take so i can as best as possible avoid sitting.

Just seems like I wouldn't be getting a load any time soon, but I'm probably just going to wait it out

Yeah I understand but I think around 8-10k would be enough to cover me as start up money. On the other hand everything could go right and I make good money. Life is a gamble sometimes

Well I'm definately not trying to break any laws. I'm wondering if derating it and carrying 4 pallets at a max of 2500 would get me more or less freight accessibility versus 3 with my current set up at around 3500

No its because you get access to more freight at least that's my thinking behind it. 5 loads at crap rates is better than 3 a crap rates because 2 of those loads were for 4 pallets. I'm sitting next to some dude in a transit 350hd and dudes got a probably 16ft box on the back with a sticker on...
