Day 5 in Laredo and still #1. Things are moving very slow this week here. Ones that usually move out fast are still here. Got a call from dispatch this morning saying I was #1 and hopefully they will get me out this afternoon. I hope so because I have to be home for Monday morning dr. appts.

Why should he stay away?

No you don't understand. We are playing with fire here and should be paid accordingly. This stuff is dangerous and somebody could get seriously hurt or possibly die. Yes it gives you more job opportunities but it should also pay a whole lot more than just a regular load. I call it battle pay.

When one is desperate they will do anything to accomplish it.

That is about the going rate for escrow on a straight truck.

Back at home it was 64* today and about 55* for the low tonight. They better enjoy it because by Monday supposed to be close to 90* for the first part of the week.

More than likely they got the load that was incorrectly called to me first and when they realized the #1 truck had been sitting since last Friday they told me the load cancelled. I know what happened. They screwed up. Good for them to realize there mistake. Not melting yet. Still chillin in...
