    U ship

I met a guy with a straight truck and flat bed trailer that does most of his work through UShip. First he finds a car or other piece of flat bed equipment to haul and then finds other things that are moving near the route he intends to take. He can put as many stops on as he wants and make a...

    Lift Gate with Swing Doors

The plan as of today is to cut the deck extension around the locking mechanism, then cut out that section out, put a hinge on one side and some supports under it. To open the doors I will have to flip a piece of the deck extension out of the way, open the doors and then flip it back down. I'll...

    Lift Gate with Swing Doors

I am having my lift gate installed tomorrow. It has a rear deck extension, but I have swing doors. My locking mechanism is below the height of the deck extension. How do I close and lock my rear doors? Is there a cut out in the extension or does the lock have to be changed? It is being...

The Future (End) of Truck Driving is Closer Than You Think

I think this will be a long time coming due to the "Public Safety" issues. Trains and planes are capable of operating without anyone at the controls, but public safety prevents that from happening at this time. A lot of people are scared to see an 80,000 pound semi driving down the highway...

Multiple Carrier Cargo Van, Sprinter, Box Truck Drivers

I agree with you Guido. I am leased to one carrier and my all miles rate so far this year is $1.58. That's 92% of what lugnut1 posted. I'll let my carrier handle the billing and insurance while I collect the discounts on fuel and purchases and concentrate on running the loads they find for me.

We have the factory 72" sleeper and a 24 foot, 12 skid box. We have been getting a lot of 12 skid loads at very good rates. Lift gate will be installed next month and we will be looking for a lift axle so we can bump our capacity up to 18,000 pounds.

My local welder and I have already discussed making a bracket for each end of the platform to place a load lock bar all the way across the platform as a full width cart stop.

    2500# Capacity Lift Gate?

We decided to go with a new Anthony 2500 pound capacity and a 50 x 80 inch platform. It will be installed by Mickey Truck Bodies in Ocala, FL when we come home for the 4th of July holiday. The price was only $4100 installed, ($1100 more than a used one) and comes with a 2 year warranty.
