    Buying a home

Wrong. Getting an accountant is a good idea; I agree. However, asking one to help you "maximize AGI" is foolish. Whomever told you that seeing $30k as an AGI as a go/no-go for considering a loan is a complete moron. My gut tells me that you've gotten some of this advice from a broker or...

    Buying a home

So that I understand you completely, you're saying that lenders only look at the Adjusted Gross Income on my tax return to determine if I make enough to repay a loan, if I'm self-employed?

    Buying a home

Financing a vehicle and financing a home are two very different animals. Credit Unions may underwrite conforming and govvie loans, but they're still selling to the big 4 banks (over 95% are), and have to underwrite to those banks' standards. Vehicle loans are 'portfolio' loans (loans that...

    Buying a home

So what you're saying, Luis, is that he should pay more taxes so that he looks more appealing to a lender? Posted with my Droid EO Forum App

    Buying a home

I disagree with Dave and Zorry both. Buying with a lease/option or seller financing (unless you find a truly desperate seller who holds title free and clear of any encumbrances, and is offering market terms with no balloon) is a license to get hosed. Your good credit score and zero debt...

    Used truck purchase

Adding to what Dave said, I would have the dealer doing the dyno pull the dipstick. If the oil looks clean, I personally would not bother with the analysis. I've heard anywhere from $325 to 600 on a dyno. Look for a bare minimum of 80% of rated horsepower. Posted with my Droid EO Forum App

Did you have a contract? If you did, hire a lawyer. That means you'll probably have to pay them something up front. Don't let this go. If you're reporting facts, it's a chunk of dough. Pursue it. Posted with my Droid EO Forum App

    Carrier

Re: Nations Express I can't offer any help, but am wondering if you are an owner-operator, or do you drive for one? Have you contacted XXXXXXX accounting or settlement folks? If so, what did they tell you? You'll probably get more pointers if you provide more info. Good luck. Sounds like...

    Beware! Drivers&Owners

The work accident policy, if in place, should cover anyone approved by the carrier to operate their leased vehicle; not an issue between fleet owner and driver. I'm wondering a couple of things: Why you didn't notice the w/a deduction missing from your settlements, and what your contract with...
