    Psi? ?

I pump them up to 80 psi on front and rear. Yeah, when empty I could lower it and have a little smoother ride, but I don't want to mess with the pressures too often.

    Actual Sprinter MPG

Lisa, I have the 5 cyl engine, I drive it at 60mph and I take off slowly. No sense in racing it. Every year I add all the miles driven and divide by the gallons put in the tank I get around 26mpg.

    I hate glass.

You'd think. Never had any other windshield do that before. Anyway, I know Pilkington makes windshields in different places, but the one I had problems with was made in China. Maybe that one escaped Quality Control. I don't know...

I have 461,018 miles on my 2004 Sprinter. Changed the fluid in the transmission every 60k. I am thankful that the transmission lasted this long, and when it goes, I will replace it. Heck, this van saved me about $30k so far in fuel compared with a Ford gasser, so I can afford a tranny and an...

    I hate glass.

I am on the 4th windshield on my 2004 sprinter. I have a small shop close by that does an excellent job. $100 deductible. The original was replaced with a Pilkington windshield. I hated it. Got scratched on the inside by wiping it with paper towels. I was going to take it in for a warranty...

    Lease or multiple carriers

With a cargo van, you are really limited. Most good paying companies will not take you. You might be able to sign on with some that either don't pay that great, or/and they limit you in some way or another. Also, most companies have a limit on the age of the vehicle. Usually, the small...

    Lease or multiple carriers

It all depends. I have done both and I prefer to be leased on to only one carrier. When you are leased to multiple carriers you have to tell all of them when you get loaded, where you are, when you are out of service. Kinda like being married to more than one woman. Advantages of being with...

Dave, you could respond without name calling. Just saying. I expect more from someone of your experience.

    Whirlwind Express

Dave, A man with your experience should not use those words, like gameplayers, etc, when you base your judgments on what someone else has posted. Do you have any personal experience with them? I do. They had something to offer me that others dis not. They gave me more loads than the other 2...

Happy to see you rolling again. You can still carry a tensioner and belt with you, so you are not stuck until they can bring one up from who knows where.

    Whirlwind Express

Well, I have to chime in here. I have been contracted with them for a time last year, along with 2 other companies. They told me in advance that they pay the following Friday, 30 days after they receive the paperwork from me, which was fine since I am not strapped for cash. I had a choice to...

Dave, sorry to hear. How many miles do you have on it? Maybe you can buy a spare belt and tensioner and have them with you just in case. My original tensioner lasted over 300k, the spring locked up, not the bearing, didn't tear up anything, so I continued on home. I changed it when I got...

    Buying a home

Got a question for you expediters out there. Any of you were successful buying a home since you started expediting? I am tired of paying rent, been doing it for too long. I feel that the money that I pay to the landlord I could pay my mortgage. So, I saved some money for a GOOD down...
