    Switching COMPANIES bad rates

Geo does work as a consultant. I wonder if he'd be good at doing the analysis and I wonder what he charges. Has anyone on here consulted him ? I talked to him years ago about going to Ceva and he seems to be a good guy. I never used him as a paid consultant. .

    Classic Movie Saturday

Wow ! Rags left the computer long enough to have children ! Oh yeah, that was pre-EO.

The thing I like about EO the most

I like how it helps me learn grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling.

    Switching COMPANIES bad rates

Just don't be lazy and follow people without due diligence. Making the move Eddie,Turtle,or Linda made may not work for you. Because you are not Eddie,Turtle,or Linda.

What does a Class 8 truck really cost?

I understand the higher the value the higher the cost. Does the first $50,000 of coverage cost the same as the third $50,000 of coverage ? Am I less of a risk driving my own unit than units 2 thru 5 that will have I/C drivers in them ?

What does a Class 8 truck really cost?

I see that in a fleet like Load-1. Was wondering how that would apply to a small fleet like Dynamites. Same concept ? Thinking about going from one to five reefers.

What does a Class 8 truck really cost?

Are you guessing that if a $50,000 truck is $215 per month, that a $150,000 truck would be $645 per month ? It'd be a good learning point to see how close that formula is. And to learn the cost of that vehicle being driven by the owner vs being put into a fleet setting.

What is the FedEx CC Load Board?

Reefer owners at Fedex get ice in their Koolade.

What is the FedEx CC Load Board?

I chuckled when Skyline referred to the load board as "candy land". Really, Candyland at flat rates ? I remember sitting in Dallas on my birthday. I'm in a D. A B load comes to me at $1.60. I turn it down so a B can have it. No B takes it, so I take it when it comes around again. I like B loads...

What is the FedEx CC Load Board?

Deville, they could have kept their mouths shut, past tense, or could keep their mouths shut. End of grammar lesson. Skyline, Caffee is a so-so debater. It's been known for years that Phil is a Masterdebater.

    Cargo Van Insurance rates

Opel- don't you start a CIS is trying to rip me off thread, about every six months ? Ask Turtle if you can qualify for a sticky. Shelly and her crew have always done me right. **Edit: and she's done right by the majority of people on here that have been fortunate enough to deal with her.

    He's got to be kidding....

Geo, are you saying you did like $140,000 on 80,000 miles last year ? Or like $80,000 on 80,000 miles which came out to $1.75 for all loaded miles ? There's lots of confusion on here due to lack of consistency in how numbers are reported. To the carrier or to the truck ? Loaded miles or all...

My 3 weeks in the expediting business

If you're making $1000 per week, would that be $48-$52 K per year ? Any paid benefits ? vacations ? Holidays ? A newbie none same household would be very unusual to hit these numbers. I think more typical in a straight will be high $30's to low $40's. Not saying you couldn't do $50,000 but...

In the U.S., most OTR drivers are paid by the mile. Australia, though, is ending that practice

The story states that at some locations the average loading delay went from SEVEN HOURS when paid by the mile to 23 Minutes when paid hourly ! Hummm.....

    Forget Expediting

I read an interesting story in USA Today about a guy in Louisville that shot down a drone that he thought was invading the air space above his property. Is 20 feet above your deck public air space ? The courts have a lot of decisions to make on drones.

DOT Expediters holding FMCSA (DOT) to own standards

John, Why shouldn't a carrier be as responsible as an O/O for defects written up ? This refers to an imaginary company , not PTL. Why is he written up ? Are your standards too low ? Does he have revenue to support good equipment ? Can he afford to go OOS midweek to obtain repairs ? Why doesn't...

When you find out the Powerball odds are One in 292.2 million.

Wouldn't the odds remain the same ? To get X amount of numbers out of the same pool ? Your odds of splitting the prize is reduced. You can tell I do not partake in games of chance.
