    Saying "no" to cheap freight!!

Why do the larger carriers keep brokering fright to the companies that are under bidding them. I understand the partner carrier concept but it seems this just helps keep the low ballers in business.

    Saying "no" to cheap freight!!

What happens when your company is the cheapest and you are running your wheels off and suddenly a new player enters the game. This new player decided to undercut you buy $.20 a mile. If one has a paid for van or truck they can run cheaper. But, if one ever plans on replacing that paid for truck or van one will find out in the long run they shouldn't have run so cheap. Justifying running cheap because your CPM is low doesn't make it right. Running cheap just hurts the whole...

I am snowed in near Fort Campbell, KY. Managed to drive 30 miles in 90 minutes. Apparently Kentucky doesn't have many plows in this area. Most roads including major highways are not driveable from here. Hope this clears up soon.

Solo Straight Truck or Solo Tractor Trailer

If you have a class A use it and drive tractor. If you drive a straight truck for a few years you won't have any recent tractor experience and will most likely have to start over again to get your experience back. Starting out in a tractor also gives you some flexibility. If you don't like...

One winter my wife and I were on a run that went past our home. We stopped in to grab a few things. No one was living there at the time and everything was shut down. When I went to use the restroom I was shocked to discover that the toilet bowl water had frozen. The reason for the big surprise...

After 18 years no longer with Fed Ex Custom Critical.

Why would anyone doubt the honesty and integrity of a large carrier like FDCC? When we went back to FDCC in 2012 we were assured they were not going flat rate. We were told that it was not there business model. Now I'm at a company where I can just ask the boss myself and get an honest answer.
