We were/are at the J in Tampa. My mother lives in Orlando, so she came down to visit us yesterday. :D We sat on blanket under the oak trees and just gabbed for hours!! It was a nice Easter.

It's interesting to see how different individuals keep track of expenses. We use a combination of spreadsheets and a database to keep track of the expenses. We use a spreadsheet to figure the profit margin on loads we run. We started doing that when we realized that we had taken a few runs...

We decided to just stick it out and stay in FL for the weekend (unless we get a load). We spent the morning polishing our tanks and wheels, getting the inside of the truck cleaned up etc. There is a Cracker Barrel just around the corner, so we are headed there for a late lunch. Happy Easter...

Linda, we grew up in Orlando. Maybe Panther wants us to move back? LOL Got a hold of a few brokers last night, but nothing is moving until Monday and by Monday we'd have a better chance at expedite. We are wrestling with the idea of just heading home. Decisions decisions :cool:

If you are driving for a fleet owner, you'd be an independent contractor. Responsible for your own taxes, insurance, etc. Yes % usually 60/40 if the driver is paying for fuel, 40/60 if the owner is paying the fuel Depends on the owners contract with the carrier to many variables I don't want...

Luvtheroad, If you're looking at expediting, it's not the "miles per week" that matters. Expediters work smarter not harder when it comes to hauling freight. You could run your butt off and not make as much as the guy that picks and chooses which runs to haul. It's about the rate not the miles

The "power" seems to be running on low battery or something this week. We did get a paid move to Tampa, but...so far nothing. Like I said before, we've always had good luck getting back out of FL, I guess it's our turn to sit.

Until now, we've never had a problem getting out of FL. Did I mention we're STILL in FL? The weather has been great, but it's warming back up. I wonder if a dispatch dance would help our cause? Might have to start calling the relatives to see if they need anything delivered. LOL
