Exactly...the scene that plays out in my mind....a young couple not knowing, thrown into a truck by some cheesy fleet owner with some cheesy carrier...
I-10 is my limit now....in all my years almost same results...am tired of rolling the dice and losing....I say to myself, "maybe this time" LOL NOT!! If you sit down there long enough...where does it really become a money loser?.....3 days? 5 days?....7 days?
comparing what I paid just to put my taxi on the road in 1990 to what it costs to put a CV on the road in a business.....seems the rate were either too high then OR too low now...
to think you can run a $100,000 business on todays highways for such a measly amount is just silly IMO
Like I said in another post...looks like insurance companies are finally matching risk against premiums....we've been paying too low for too long...
I'd even settle for some to look for a DIFFERENT business....
I think they are actually seeing what we do and the associated risk we represent...the miles, the weather, the traffic and night creatures...total risk...
back in the 90's was paying about $5,000 insurance for my taxi! as an O/O...
