Ouch....The difference a state makes...My plate is commercial @10,000lbs for $72.00

In SD they register at 2,000 increments Mine is 10,000lbs instead of 8,000 lbs. If I hadda went for the 8,000 and weighed out at my legal GVW of 8550 I'd still be overweight and subject to fine. Its a weird world out there.

I like my sprinter just like the guy likes his big class 8 KW or Pete as a straight truck. Doesn't get him more pay than the FL70 guy, but its what he / she is proud of. Yeah I like that comparison!!

I guess my point was IF I owned 5 vans and I paid the fuel and gave them a Frequent fueling card the accumalated credots I'd use to offset the oil changes.

You'll notice it's the owners not taking the overweights more then drivers..what do they care?...a loads a load? right? They don't have to fix that slipping tranny or replace that blown engine or replace them springs and shocks and on and on....an extra .05 cents a mile is not going to reverse...

Well David....I don't know who your reference is for load totals but since your using the .70 It's got to be an E-1 as thats there NLM rate for cargo vans. And yes I've taken them. I am at a loss to WHY your comparing anyhow? The Sprinter is just a cargo van that happens to be able to take on...

In this day and age of sue this and sue that. I assuming we'd be liable somewhere along the line. Overweight is just that overweight!!! If one takes a load of greater capacity then it's rated for, the flood gates would be opened.
