    American Axle / GM strike

Why would you believe we'll be busy?? Ya know all them auto parts we were pickin up from them small part makers, I'd assume that they run till they caught up? If they were behind before, they sure would be caught up and ahead now. Remember it was only Axel on strike....trucks have still been...

    It Depends On....

Sorry Dave but I beg to disagree....to "some" points. A measure of ones success is only for the one involved to measure.... $500,000 in retirement savings? I am happy...bills are up to date, debt ratio is low, no mortgage, some medical coverage and a growing retirement....If I want it I'll...

    60/40 revisited?

An incentive is like the carrot before the donkey or as you call it a set of criteria to make....the pay after achieving the carrot is the "bonus"

    60/40 revisited?

And yes and after doing said crappy run..you did it so well that they paid you a "bonus" as well as the "incentive" that was offered "before" you did it..... A car dealer offers you "incentives" before you buy the car...not after the deal.

    expediting information

Welcome JR... It's an age old question and there isn't really a foolproof answer. The carriers are as varied as the individual....what works for one does't work for another...I know that sounds strange but here's an example: Recently we had 2 senior members switch to the same carrier...BOTH...

In December 1891, Canadian-born James Naismith, a physical education teacher at the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) training school, took a soccer ball and a peach basket into the gym and invented basketball. In Springfield MA Bears Don't Run Downhill", is a book of 201 interesting...

Greg..your separating grains of salt here....drivers meet production quotas set by owner... on time, acceptance, in service....gross totals are all quotas and drivers meet them hence bonus....to an old time trucker it's a "bonus" You try and tell a 30 yr ole pro out here "Financial Incentive"...

    Sleeping in a Dump

So true , so true...so far this month with slowing down and keeping eye on tire pressure and all the other little things...I've managed to get my fuel costs down to 18% from almost 26% so I think I have expenses under control...to up the bottom line.

    Sleeping in a Dump

Dave ...I have no idea what your teams do as in yearly mileage. But wife and I do between 120-150,000 a year and thats the last 6 yrs. It doesn't leave much of a truck at the end of term. I figure you just have to make as much as you can while it's alive. And if ya figure we've averaged...
