I am told by a friend of mine that is a carrier for usps, the actual cost to deliver first class mail is closer to .80 per peice. He says the postal service can not raise rates without congressional approval. I don't know if any of this is true or not, just sharing.

IMO - It depends on which service is in question. Public safety should never be privatized, but thingd like public works, trash collections, etc should be. All IMHO of course.
