Same with Hanukkah. I don't know of any Jewish familys that give gifts for 8 days, just the first. Same situation, too many bagels. On the first day of Hannukah my bubala gave to me a bagel with lite cream cheese. On the 2nd day of Hannukah my bubala gave to me 2 potato latkes and a bagel...

This is true, but as a whole, our parents generation had more great and less weak than ours. IMHO, of course.
