Help me build the truck please

I'm not sure a class B would cover a four axle straight. On a trailer tandem you get 40 (20x2) if you have 10 feet or more between axles. A neighbor in Michigan had a slight "Canadian Spread" on his Volvo tractor that gave him 36 or more on his tandem.

Help me build the truck please

His operation would dictate whether I'd want a multi axle straight or TT. The straight would be okay dock to dock. A lot of stress, bad tire wear if doing multiple stops with the four axle set-up.

I agree with you John. It cracks me up that so many complain about regulations and think the government should regulate to solve detention or rate issues.

Maybe vans should log. And raise their rates accordingly.

Help me build the truck please

Simpler, cheaper if you go with a tractor and short trailer. 12-20-34=66 I'd go 14-34-20 or 16-34-20.

Help me build the truck please

My guess.....Rice is heavy. Different states have different weights allowed per tandem. Also, some allow longer straights. Your operating area will be a big factor on your build.

The technically and legally OOS for the previous 7 days is the "grey" area for me. Do any of our safety experts or industry execs care to chime in ? As the young lady said to me last night "Where's a John when you need one ?"

Logging those previous 7 days is what would make me pucker a little. I don't like it when there's a "grey" area for an officer to misinterpret.

It's Friday. You've been busy. You land a Hazmat load and need to log. Do you accurately recreate your last 7 days ? ( I can't remember what I had for lunch 2 days ago.) Do you need 5 hours off before pickup or a full ten off ? It seems the potential for falsification far outweighs the benefit...

I didn't ask for a definition of expedite freight. Which you described very well. I asked if most here really run LTL thinking they are expediting. Beach bums trip with an extra week. Expedited ? The guy that hauls the Monday thru Friday one pallet that picks up at 07:00. I'd say most here...

Truckers Continue Protesting for Better Pay

If he insulted all the HARD WORKING men and women of Michigan he didn't insult the whole state. He insulted maybe 25% of the state. And 50%of the Lions and Red Wings.
