Tell my wife that. We're pretty low overhead. At least when it comes to our carrier operations. We certainly don't live in some high end house. But we do have FUN!! Not like fishing or playing checkers. But more like entertaining the kids and ourselves. We will NOT be "taking it with us". LOL!!

Making bucks and having bucks are two totally different things. Several mouths, a house, 2 cats, a dog, etc take quite a bite. I like to save where I can. Not always, but this one worked for me. True story on cheap parts. Been bitten a couple of times over the years that way.

Still in Dayton. Yay!! Water pump done. Been a long time since I've changed one of those myself. GM seems to have learned a few design improvements over the years. Tires getting rotated & balanced now. Then earl change. Then I'm RTR!!

    GM Fuel Pump

Good call. Just have it replaced. Way more expensive than on the road with a tow bill. Hoping mine makes it until a nice spring day. I plan on replacing it in the driveway. Just as a preventative measure. I've put 200,000+ miles on that pump plus whatever the precious owner did in the prior...

Have you put some numbers to the payback on that setup? Or is it best to wait for a catastrophic engine failure to throw that puppy together?

What does your screen name mean?

I did used to have a drinking buddy that called me "IrishMurray" when he walked in the bar I was in. Kinda in the "Norm!!!!!" fashion.

What does your screen name mean?

Maybe "ShortIrish" or "IrishShorty". Except that I'm 6'0".

What does your screen name mean?

Any mods feel like changing my name? Votes on names? Maybe to....... IrishRover. (My favorite) Murray'sLaw. Murr-Murr (my kids call me that) How confusing is it to spend a couple of years on here as BOB then change your name to JIM?

Looks like a water pump is in my NEAR future. Guess it's a good thing I'm already at home this week. May try to wait until Saturday morning but get the parts & hoses together just in case.

    How Would You Spend It?

American Courier Express (ACE) did that in Dayton several years ago, although with far fewer than 100 Sprinters. I think it took them 2 years to go broke.

And yes. My mattress pad is all I need or want down to about 40. I'd like to get some cozy going again tho.

Maybe I borrow a meter and just find out exactly what they draw.

It has a low and high. 750 & 1500 I think. Maybe even a lower one for the "frost" setting.

My big question mark is my heated mattress pad. I can't find anything about wattage it uses. My Sunbeam heater is 1500 watts. Lose 10% and low and behold I'm "up there" on consumption. Maybe I just run my FanTastic Fan and build a campfire in here!!

Like 1 & 2. Oil was a little low, although just changed and filled 10 days ago. Aux tank may be positioned to low compared to genset. Maybe it was just getting a slight trickle and not able to jack the RPMs. Filled oil. Going to Lowe's for some "build-up" lumber to elevate the aux tank a few...

Headed home. Generator failed. Overloads even with nothing plugged in. Looks like it's 2-year warranty will come in handy. Hopefully it can go in the shop quick. Otherwise I'll buy one of those disposable Harbor Freight gensets to fill in. I have plenty of honey-dos to kill the rest of this...
