-55 degrees in Chicago with wind chill. Was that a typo? If not, I've got nothing to complain about -48 in Ottawa was the coldest I ever experienced Edit: not a typo Chicago sets its train tracks on fire when it's this cold - CNN

I agree. Spending that money, I had a few bad ones (rushed techs). Surprisingly the string alignment, favored by many racing teams, is just as accurate (done correctly). Toe only, camber / caster I have a manual tool thats only valid on a properly leveled shop floor That's why I was hoping you...

Nice! Did you by chance get a look at the alignment machine / tools they used? I had issues even getting my E350 done in Ohio, at least at the local shops ($90 for those that could) I've been doing my own string alignments for the last several years, not on the sprinter yet tho. That'd be a...

    Recommendations for Food

Buying a 12 v fridge such as a Dometic makes this easy. I'm 5'11" and 260, that's a good 25 lbs lighter than the little ceasars deep dish / pilot pizza days. How hard is it to find a walmart lol. Dometic keeps the salads edible, or whole chickens. Toss the dressing out the window Dometic fits...

Canada Semi-trailer driver who caused Humboldt Broncos crash had 70 violations in 11 days

I think the pay scale has as much to do with it as the individual. Why pay per mile? Against a clock, just encourages cheating. You can say I get paid per mile, but it's just a way of measuring. My run, my time, my choice how to complete. 12 hours or 36, it's under my control, and my carrier...

    Sylectus

Anything I have said about Sylectus is from the perspective of a Canadian doing cross-border freight only, for a brand new company, and has nothing to do with the experience an American driver may have with the platform. It should not be construed as an accurate representation of what any other...

    Sylectus

Not exclusively I suppose. From the perspective that this thread is from; single drivers with new businesses sharing a membership; wouldn't you agree they'd do better with a good carrier than what they could get on Sylectus with a fresh mc# and few trucks? Perhaps I should have said "people...

Report: darn near useless in a Sprinter (Olympian wave 3) but more heat than nothing I'd insulate, but on a 2005 I'm almost too fat already to walk around the skids and strap them down

I've done it once. And, been given a seal in my hand while they shrugged their shoulders Lately they seem to ask, and pay, for it not to travel thru states depending on the load. No idea why Oh yeah, what im doing...sitting on my thumbs

    Cargo Van Commercial Insurance

I've got to do some number crunching myself. I'm not making fun of the OP, looking at expanding horizons myself. But I've been doing this 12 years. Load boards are less useful than being seen by brokers for direct calls. Maybe this is the "shipping wars" effect? If insurance is too expensive...
