Haz Mat endorsement: is it worth having on your CDL?

You get paid for the risk...except Fema stuff and boxes get wiped out..:eek: it is the same premise as giving a carrier 12 feet instead of 8 feet and not getting paid..people say well you got a load before others did so the 12 feet did pay...nice in theory but business ain't like...

    New Jersey mandates snow-free vehicles

Be my guest...I'll even volunteer driving directions for you to pick it up...;) Turtle...Correct....beside jumping the que...there is no other renumeration for the risk....if the load sprouts a leak I could be OOS for days or weeks depending on the spill...and just whom will pay me for my...

Leo just how much snow remains after a 300 mile trip into Joisey? Not in Joisey...maybe over the weekend....but whats the odds of any accumulation worth worrying about? It think this is partly dramatization.... And are you kidding me? Swift keeps all their equipment moving? Haven't you ever...

    New Jersey mandates snow-free vehicles

And NJ is not the snow capital of the world... Snowfall can vary even more year-to-year. The average snowfall is 23.4 inches, but has ranged from as low as 2 inches (in the winter of 1918-19) to as high as 76.9 inches (in 1995-96). The heaviest snowstorm on record was the Blizzard of 1996 on...

Haz Mat endorsement: is it worth having on your CDL?

I don't have it and never will....Since I can carry up to 1,000 lbs without it..and the under 1,000lbs stuff usually requires a bulkhead which I want no part of... I can live without it...Which of course is personal preference in the way I carry on my business. There is no right/ no wrong...

    New Jersey mandates snow-free vehicles

I've seen permanent snow scrappers installed at some UPS depots.....they just drive the truck thru slowly and it takes it down to a couple inches deep... I think the worse ones are trailers that have sat for weeks in a yard and the snow is like 3-4 feet deep..those should be cleaned off... I...
