I would never pay the gas if I were a fleet owner.....there is no incentive to slow down and drive responsibly.....sure I know of some fleet owners that use the pre 07 sprinters that get high mileage and they profit off the FSC.....

Since you have lots of time to deliver..take your time like 60-63 mph and get the fuel mileage you can and make the rate better...:) last night I got 26.1 mpg....averaged 25.3 on the whole trip...

I understand that....the rate is low, but not extremely low.....I am thinking .32 -.34....and yes the owner is fluffing him with that experience story....either way I'd imagine the owner will lead him by the nose anyways...keep in mind the guy just has to do this for maybe 6 months at most...
