    E-track Load Bar for Sprinter?

Potential problem I found with the brackets and a 2x4 is my Chevrolet C/V isn't the same width everywhere. I cut a 2x4 for the farthest rear of my van, when I try using it towards the front, the board is too short and falls out. I use the farthest rear one to hang my tv with some U shaped...

    Feburary Locations

Week starting out kind of bad. Had a load Tuesday from Port Washington WI to Esterhazy SK. Got as far as Mauston WI and had a front bearing hub go out. This run also included going back to Fargo, meeting another van, going back into Canada and then had a load pre planned back to Milwaukee. Would...

Is it better to get the job first?

I got a bad one. It was a 1999 and had lots of problems. Belts, pulleys, relays, crank position sensor, transmission line leaks, egr valve and bad mileage. Sold it and bought a 2006 Chevrolet Express 3500 and its been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. No problems, just keep doing my...

    TV for the van.

True, I assumed that the DVD player would fail a lot sooner then a TV set. I picked one up from Wally World, I think it's 19-21" with built in DVD player for $158. It's ac only but I have a inverter generator so it works for my cv just fine. Bought the extended warranty for like another $15 for...

Is it better to get the job first?

I did it backwards. I saw so many job listings on Craigslist for van's that I went and bought a GMC 3500 and then applied. I went over to a local expeditor carrier, walked in the door, told them why I was there and they hired me on the spot. Started running the same day. I got really lucky...

    TV for the van.

If you get a TV with built in DVD, when it fails in several years from now, you can still add a stand alone DVD, VHS or satellite receiver. New tv's have lots of plug in spots. Some even let you plug your laptop right in to them. Then you could stream video and movies right from your laptop.

New Tax's and fees for credit card use.

I had trouble getting reimbursed for the $10.75 each time, but my carrier agreed to pay 100% for the transponder. For me, it's a great deal. I've been to Canada 3 times already this year. It's saved me paying $32.25 out of pocket already. Plus this year some crossings, like Port Huron, are...

New Tax's and fees for credit card use.

Or if you do a lot of Canada runs you could just buy the transponder for $205 and run free for a year. I bought it on their web site, submitted the receipt to my carrier and they reimbursed me. Now I can cross free until December 31.

    Getting started in Expediting?

I see lots of loads going to Vancouver and the mines in far western CN. That's not too far from going home for op. On my way to Vancouver right now, then back to Seattle to wait for the next load. Never sat in Seattle more then 1 day. Trick is to be willing to go back to Canada or California...

    C/V weight limits

I was just under my 9,600 weight. I'm just looking ahead to the day I'm offered something that might put me 100 or 200 over my 9,600# limit. I asked the fork driver to scale the skids for me, I then verified the weight. In this instance I was 100% legal. I'm only asking in case some day I go...

None of those 3 cities are any better then Laredo for me. Had my best luck out of Houston. But each carrier is different. I usually made the move to Houston on Sunday afternoon because I'd rather sit in Laredo then Houston!

    C/V weight limits

Back to my original question. I was easily legal with each axle limit, with tire load rating and with my plates. Just really was pushing the 9,600# door sticker. If I had been scaled, would they have put me OOS or given me an over weight ticket?
