I bought bulk cable, got the cable ends from an auto parts store. Cut to length and solder on the ends exactly the length you need.

Used a 2" front receiver hitch with locking pin. Can take it off for car wash or service if needed. Pull the pin and slide it out. Using short cord so I can move the vehicle to get fuel or change positions to keep sun out of my eyes.

Weighs less then 150#. Not much different then carrying a passenger or if the van had a Diesel engine.

Do you think this heater will warm the van better then the 1,500 watt "milk house heater" I'm using now? I could easily run 2 of those with my generator.

A generator that mounts underneath the van, like in RVs. With electric start from the cab and drawing fuel direct from the van fuel tank. I'm guessing $3,000 - $4,000 for this 4,000 watt setup.
