    Opinions?

He sounds like a patriot, actually. Patriotism isn't a love of your government, but of your country. And no one who loves the country is happy about this decision. The ones who are happy about this are the ones who love Other People's Money.

Too late. The Gestapo has been around for years, mostly in the airports.

    Opinions?

Well, first of all, the more you look into the history of the pledge, the less you'll want to say it. Second, to do so means pledging allegiance to the status quo. The people who have trashed the constitution and country as a whole are still in office; it's coming up on 5 consecutive...

Written by a doctor from an email list. Anybody agree with this? "With the SCOTUS decision handed up today, the federal government now has no limits to its power.* This is a federal dictatorship whether fascist, socialist, national socialist,*communist or simply totalitarian.**All good...

This really bodes ill for the future of America

I don't comprehend how the young can feel this way. The young can only be described as mentally deficient and/or morally bankrupt. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/24/opinion/sunday/the-generation-gap-is-back.html?_r=1&%20_r=2

Speed cameras coming to Illinois work zones.

It depends on if the law itself is ridiculous. If it is, then expecting people to obey it is ridiculous. Having ridiculous laws breeds contempt for the law. That's why I asked "What if the speed limit were 10 mph in work zones," to take it to a ridiculous degree to see if their position...

Speed cameras coming to Illinois work zones.

The question was designed to find out whether their position was a matter of principle and unchanging or some shade of gray or matter of degree.

Speed cameras coming to Illinois work zones.

Well, your position is ridiculous, but at least you're consistent.

Speed cameras coming to Illinois work zones.

Yes, those nuisance cameras have been operating for a while, but those are not the work zone camera vans cited in the OP.

Speed cameras coming to Illinois work zones.

    Chicago Deadlier Place Than Afghanistan

Lots of children getting hit, hear it on the news about every day. As has been noted, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, etc. are examples of what happens when you put a Demon-crat in charge.

Maybe I'll try to hold my nose and choke down a meal there once i'm a while now. Sure wouldn't go there for the food.

    warrning bad owner

I wonder if stream of consciousness writing became common only after the internet came to the masses, or if these people wrote that way in school, longhand.

    How free are we?

Nobody's come out against help, in and of itself, for the needy. What several of us have said is it's immoral, unethical, and illegal to FORCE people to give via taxation. Private charity--that's compassion.

    How free are we?

What would thaw it is getting the gummint out of it, and let private organizations run charitable operations. They're far better at it, and can means-test. Theft isn't generosity.

    How free are we?

Here's an exchange with my cousin, the cop, that touched on the charity issue: >Now perhaps you understand the difference. > Yes, I'm sure that was the difference at one time many years ago. More accurately, it goes like this: A demon-crat and a re-dumb-lican are walking down the street. They...

    How free are we?

It's the right thing to do as INDIVIDUALS, or voluntary groups. It isn't right for you to hire a thug to extract money from strangers as they walk down the street, even if the money is going toward what you believe is a good cause.

    How free are we?

Even if they made it legal via amendment, it would still be unethical and immoral.

    How free are we?

I agree, but we have lurched so far to the extreme left over the last 30 years, privatization is a dirty word down here.
