Paying cash on Florida toll road causes problems?

top headlines: Tuesday, February 22, 2011 Florida Toll Road Sued for Holding Motorists Hostage A group of motorists earlier this month filed a federal class action lawsuit against Florida's toll road system for detaining motorists who attempt to pay the tolls with cash. About 600 miles...

    Fun! Fun! Fun!

I might have to move there. Sounds fantastic, except for the ridiculous heat, which I have no idea how you tolerate. Herpetologists now consider canebrakes and timbers to be the same species. The only visible difference is the pink-ish stripe down the back. There aren't enough differences to...

What do you eat if you need to drive all night?

Sunflower seeds, in the shell. Salted. Get a cheek full and work on opening them one-by-one in your mouth as you drive. Never found anything more effective. I'm a little puzzled with the peanuts in the coke bottle. You soak the peanuts in coke and eat them and drink the coke at the same time.

    A crime stopped DEAD!!

I'm surprised this ended well for the driver. An employee who defends himself is usually fired afterward.

    A crime stopped DEAD!!

Either open or concealed, any state that interferes with one of the ways is in violation. I don't mind too much if they ban concealed carry as long as open carry is ok. And by ok, I mean the cops won't jack you up when they see you with it. And licenses and permits are wrong, too.

Texas poised to pass bill allowing guns on campus

Funny...we treat adults as children, but we've got to make sure little Johnny and Susie know about condoms and anal sex in 1st grade...

Texas poised to pass bill allowing guns on campus

Used to be that all of America wasn't for sissies. How times have changed. Now there are just a few bastions of manhood left...

    Be Careful Today

Actually, I agree. I'm a fan of 50-70. 80 is warm enough that the sun will warm up the van too much.

    How to remake our government

We don't seem to be talking about the same thing here. I'm talking about principles of governance that were perverted. For example, the general welfare clause. We know from what the Founding Fathers wrote that they had a fairly narrow definition of what that means, and our current office...

    How to remake our government

I like it, but it's one of those "as long as you're ready for the consequences" type of things. You'd have to prepare for them. And I'm not convinced that American boys should spill their blood elsewhere even if the other country is paying. Doing the second would obviate the first. I mean...

    How to remake our government

This would mean that only the rich could serve, and that's kind of what we have now by other means. Look at the problems caused when one class becomes the rulers. What do you think of a system whereby each candidate would have to raise support to live, like a missionary? If he wants to...

    How to remake our government

This really has nothing to do with trucking. Not that freedom wouldn't affect trucking, because it would. Imagine if the prohibition against self-incrimination wasn't violated in trucking. It would mean an end to logbooks and EOBRs, etc. You'd just have to face severe penalties for harming...

    How to remake our government

That's why the old system doesn't work and won't again. It allowed loopholes and variances in interpretation, such as the general welfare clause and the interstate commerce clause, to occur and steal our freedom. We would have to try something else, something that is far less ambiguous...

    drug tests

I'm sure they can tighten themselves back up later. In my squadron, we did things a little differently. I roomed with an NCO from another squadron. He left one morning in his blues, which was unusual for him. I asked him why, and he said he had Operation Goldenflow that day. I didn't...

    How to remake our government

With all the regime change going on in the world, as well as the potential economic default scenarios that actually endanger our government and way of life, perhaps it's time to ask ourselves what a better government should look like. After all, our Founding Fathers told us that it is a natural...
