    Diesel shortage

I'm sitting at the FJ in Aurora, CO waiting to deliver a HazMat load of drink concentrates to Pepsi in the morning. I filled up here (at $3.21 a gallon). There is no shortage. Plenty of fuel for all. The only shortage here is parking spaces for big trucks.

    Conway Truckload

This really has nothing to do with me, but I'm just curious. It seemed that tractor drivers for Conway Now were offered Conway Truckload runs, also. And, I think, vice versa. Has this been affected by the buyout? Thanks

    Did I make somebody angry?

Thanks. I'm contrite. I over-reacted. I'm better than that. My apologies. I'll try not to let it happen again. I'm really a nice guy until you get to know me. lol

    Did I make somebody angry?

You're right. It was a HotShot Newsletter that was an advertisement for a joke site. The way it was presented caused an immediate reaction from me that it was a spam. All it talked about was iJoke. Not one word about expediting. I've unsubscribed to ensure that I don't get weird...

    Did I make somebody angry?

I asked EO not to give out my email to Joke websites. For some reason, that request was deleted? What's up?

    TruckStop and Rigs

Bob, Bob, Bob. How the heck are you. Only you would write a post about a truck stop giving you trouble. Not driving OTR? That won't last. Once a truck or bus driver, always a truck or bus driver. You chose a nice state to live in. My first wife, the mother of my two wonderful daughters...

    How old is too old?

OMG!!!! I think I saw the link to that article on Drudge last week but never clicked on it to read it. 600 lbs. Give me a break.

    How old is too old?

Thanks, Dave. I may be 56, but honestly, I don't feel old. Except when my hemorrhoids act up ( I got the spelling from my Wal-Mart brand (Equate) ointment, lol). To give you full disclosure, it's important for me to tell you that another reason I'm not a computer geek any longer is I just...

    How old is too old?

Interesting post. Driving a truck doesn't really seem to have an age limit. If you can pass your DOT physical, you're fine to drive. In fact, the older you are/more experience, the more respect you get from the trucking companies and from other drivers. It's one occupation where age means...

Pilot, Going Back to old points

Ughh!!! I love the convenience of their truck stops and I love their coffee. But I swear they gouge on fuel prices. They are the highest everywhere. If you pay for your own fuel, I don't know how you can afford them. Check out the prices at the Pilot at exit 36 on I-75 just out of...

    Guilty of American Idol

Another guilty watcher. But I couldn't finish tonight cause somebody had the nerve to call me and offer me a load. geesh. I don't have to watch it. My ex-co-driver keeps me informed and my sister in Bradenton, FL likes to call and give me the results. I also DVR it at home in case I ever...

    Solo Driving

Hi Bob. Sorry we haven't talked on the phone lately. Glad you're doing fine in your big truck. I've thought of driving OTR again in a big rig. But, I just don't think it's worth it as a company driver. The pay is too little per mile. I need to control my dispatch, which I can only do as an...

    Solo Driving

You all must remember my posts from a few weeks ago. I'm out here solo now. It took a week to get from Texas to Birmingham to Memphis to West Illinois, but then I made it to "the lane". If you run Illinois to Ohio, there is a lot of work. Some short runs; some longer runs. You have to be so...

    blair enterprises

Yes. I worked for Tom and Steve at A. Blair from March 04 until July 04. And then from October 04 until June 05. I was very happy working for them. I worked very hard as a solo driver. I left to co-drive with a friend who didn't have enough experience to qualify under A. Blair's insurance...

NO HELP FROM THE TRUCKER'S HELPER

I have PCMiler Streets 18. I've never tried that. Someday I hope to finish reading the manual. Right now I just use it to verify that Streets and Trips hasn't put me on a restricted road.

NO HELP FROM THE TRUCKER'S HELPER

Wow. Great response. Glad to see you monitor this forum so that you are aware of problems we drivers deal with. I have Trucker's Helper. But, instead of putting in beginning and ending hub miles, is there anyway to just enter the miles I drive in each state? My Rand McNally Route Tools...

Panther Straight Solo Drivers - need input

ATeam. That was a great post. Thank you very much. My first loyalty is to Dave and whatever he wants me to do. After driving for A. Blair for over a year, I had to leave because his insurance would not cover the person who wanted to co-drive with me due to her lack of experience. Dave...

Panther Straight Solo Drivers - need input

Well thanks for that. But at 56, I'm just not interested in changing. I'm so happy with myself I'd like to stay this way. I am OCD and pretty sure that I have Adult ADD. Who could ask for anything more? No co-driver. Ever. Unless it's a cat.

Panther Straight Solo Drivers - need input

Now that's what I wanted to hear. As a team, we are at 100% everything except "in service". That's only 97%!!! I only refuse the stupid loads. I'm almost 56 years old and the only thing I want to do is drive. If I could drive 24 hours a day, I would do it. I began expediting in March 04...

Panther Straight Solo Drivers - need input

Oh crap!! But thanks for the quick response. From July 04 until Oct 04 I ran solo with FedEx. Liftgate and push axle. I had to leave since I was going broke, too. But, that was FedEx. Way too restrictive, it seems, in their solo runs. Also, I wasn't very good at positioning myself by only...
