I did 83,000 ALL miles last year....:) 81,000 the year before...... 104,000 with another carrier and made LESS $$$$ then I did at this mileage..... It is NOT about the miles.....its about the RATE per mile......

carriers usually figure out due time at between 45-50 mph.....say a 500 mile load would be set at a 10 hour arrival time......IF you should average at 60 mph that is an 8.5 hour trip.....LOTS of time just to coast depending of course on traffic and weather.....

a sprinter at 20 mpg at $4.00 a gallon makes for exactly .20 a mile....all DH miles paid for....if an 05-06 sprinter you actually put money in your pocket at .20... 23 mpg @$4.00 = .17 per mile...

where did you come up with that 50% DH figure...

that is where common sense comes in loading procedure....1 - 3,000lb skid will have to be pushed forward ....3 equal skids not so much of a concern......Ford has always had that overhang to my knowledge even the E350 has it and people deal with it.....Why doesn't Ford make a longer wheel base...

That would still be a pay cut at Load 1....we vans make about as much as an E-1 straight does....

You should opt for electronic.....help eliminate those small paper errors....oh but wait then you can't cheat....get to a shipper at 4am and show unloaded and start your off duty clock while you wait till 7am and really get unloaded and then drive 3 miles to the TS and Really go off...
