The Thread You Can Use When You Need To

It's Great To Be a Man because........... 01) Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. 02) Movie nudity is virtually always female. 03) A 5 day vacation requires only one suitcase. 04) Monday Night Football. 05) You don't have to monitor your friends' sex lives. 06) Your bathroom lines...

Program to help truckers attracts drug smugglers

Cheri, just to add to your thoughts on Mexican mfg. I learned this week that the Whirlpool plant in Evansville, IN will shut down. Refrigerators have been built in that town since 1938 but no more. The work is going to Mexico. At one time Whirlpool had over 10.000 employees in Evansville. I also...

    Stupid things drivers believe.

Took a load from a tool shop last week and while going for the pickup got a call from dispatch advising I had to wear boots at the shipper. When I asked what kind of boots I was told "Don't know, but some kind of boots". I went to the pickup bootless. When I got there the fork lift driver (and...

    Diesel Supplements

While at the Ford dealer last week I asked the mechanic about additives. He suggested I add a quart of any automatic transmission fluid to my diesel fuel every 8-10 fill ups to clean the injectors. He said he did this in his F 250 pckup and it is a common practise. I am thinking about trying it...

Went to the Ford dealer to have cruise installed on an '03 Ford E-350 with a 7.3 diesel. I was told add on cruise was still available for the gas modesl but was no longer available for diesels. Only thing I found on line was a universal model that fit everything. That did not sound like...

    DOD Clearance

Is the expense and trouble of getting DOD clearance for a H/W van team worth it? Is there much demand for this type work at the cat? Thanks

    Workmans Comp

I agree with Greg. I had an accident in Ohio on 9/2/09 and went to the ER for xrays. The W.C. paid only the medical bills. I was off work for three weeks but did not request to be paid for that time. I was still sent a denial of pay by the Ohio WC board They stated that I was not elegible due...

    Dumb things dispatchers have said

Dispatchers are all great and wonderful people. I like and respect all of them. They are almost always correct and on top of things. They are almost deities They also monitor E.O.postings.

Hino trucks..Panther said to get a Freightliner instead

I spent four weeks in a Hino this spring. Two on the road then two at the dealer in Sharonville, Ohio. I think Hino is a Japanese word for Haunted.

    Insurance savings

Just a tip for anyone who is looking for insurance and doesn't know about CIS. I was advised to try them by a Cat recruiter for a van I am bringing on. I first called State Farm where I have been for over 30 years and was told they could not insure commercial vehicles. I then got a quote from a...

Actually I do plan to start driving as an o/o next week w/o the raised roof. I was just gathering info for the future. I probably will have someone do the install, if and when I buy a roof. Appreciate the concern.

    Raised roof van

Greg, No offence taken by your assumption on my mechanical knowledge. I was just seeking informtion. As I am sure you know we are all born knowing how to do just three things (wet, suckle and cry), everything else either comes from others or we figure it out for ourselves. Actually at this time...
