    Hotel Discount Card

I had no clue that you can stay a full 24 hours with the CLC card. I've always just checked out when it was check out time. Is is written somewhere on CLC's website so I can print it out just incase I run into a problem next time I try it?

    Sprinter

I have an '06 Long and Tall, was put in service in April '07. Its currently at 107K. So far the only problems have been an O2 sensor at 65K and then a belt and belt tensioner at 92K. I still have the well known tranny rumble strip noise, but it only happens during city driving. Besides that no...

Why do people get into this Business and take off 25% of the year?

I run single in a Sprinter and because I am not married and no kids, I pretty much stay out all the time. Usually I head for home after 4 weeks out, stay home for about 2 days, then head back out. But since I do stay out a lot, that doesn't mean I don't take time off. Last weekend I took a load...

    I am p**sed off, literally!!!or maybe litterally!!!

I don't condone those actions, but come on folks, what I'm getting here is that ya'll have never peed outdoors in your whole life. One example comes to mind is camping, fishing, hiking, or hunting. What do you do then hold it till you find a rest room out in the middle of nowhere?? Yes people...

You know what would be cool

I have been thinking of adding a canopy to the Pass side of my sprinter for a while now. That way when I bring out my camping chairs and my grill I will have some shade at the truck stop while watching a game. Think of it like tailgating but without the beer.:+

    1st day of december

Well I loaded in Kansas City on friday afternoon for a monday morning drop in Frankfort, KY. Drove over to The J on 64 right before Frankfort and stayed there all weekend. Ran into a little rain, but I was south of the freeze line. Greg, what kind of van is it? The same thing happened to my...

Tax Question for drivers of owner operators.

Greg if you don't mind me asking who do you use. Since I live close to you, over in Dearborn Heights, I was wondering if you use someone local or one of the big names. Thanks.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR THANKSGIVING?

I am spending my thanksgiving away from friends and family, just like alot of us are doing, in Canton, OH at this wonderful TA. Hopefully they will have some descent turkey in the restaurant. Phil, I just left the Bordertown, NJ area last night, since they bonused me out. If I was still there...

    One strike

    >Nick, >The dispatcher needs to get off their a** and come here to >the area and sit in traffic trying to get through 275 to 96 >to go to brighton at 4pm on friday. Greg, I completely agree with you. I wish the dispatchers would have to do a ride along program for a month or so through...

    BEEP!!! IN THE NIGHT....

I've had the QC go bump in the night, immediately followed by the phone ringing. They have always been to rescue a breakdown. At that point I tell them to make it worth my time. Not that I'm not a team player and don't want to help them out, but I value my sleep, especially after driving all...

    One strike

OVM, I totally agree with you and Turtle. I understand that we car legally run faster that the big trucks, but with traffic, construction and other scenarios sometimes you are cutting it close. I always let my dispatcher know if I am sitting for longer than 10 mins somewhere on the road. Just...

Is it me or just hard to get

Don't know if that is true or not because I don't run for the big cat. I run for the "Tri-bars".

Is it me or just hard to get

I believe most of it has to do with the company you run with. I live in Detroit and every time I get a load going home on a weekend, I always get out on Monday. For example, took a load Friday out of Rochester, NY to drop sat morning at 06:00, after I dropped I was #6 on the board, I went home...

Better Refrigerator for my Sprinter ?

Turtle, I am wanting to do the shelves in my sprinter, but am worried about the weight. I currently don't have a partition, just have a bunk that breaks down to fit the 3rd skid and a plastic dresser where your fridge is. I want to add a fridge, microwave and a printer where yours is and then...

Will never stay in Fort Wayne, IN again

That happened to me the first time I was in Ft. Wayne. I went and talked to the cashier in the truck stop, told her I was in a van and she told me they have a special area for us expediters. After that things were good. I have received free showers from there as well. I like it cause its one of...

    Laptop 348$

I love my laptop and now I wouldn't run without one. It is an essential tool in todays world, not only for mapping & navigation, but also for record keeping and keeping in touch with friends. I ran into a deal where I bought 3 Dell laptops that were a year old for $700. Kept one for myself, sold...

Maybe Our Next Truck Won't Have a Reefer

This is a good alternative over the traditional reefer, but my question is how much more will a truck weigh with the RouteMaxx technology over the same truck with a traditional reefer unit.

    Placement of Sticker

In my Sprinter I just keep it in the blue binder along with all my other paperwork. Never had a problem doing it this way.
