I'm all over the Promaster 3500 diesels, it's a 2003-2006 sprinter with cheaper parts. When to replace? My system is when a whole new van is cheaper than fixing like a blown motor for example I've got a 2005 and I'm running as much as I want, until that changes, banking a down...

I've heard 200,000 miles is a pretty accurate figure

I'm looking right now for the website that lists the average per mile paid by the customer...last time I looked it was 4.30... all I can find is what we're running for so far...

Sure...but should they make a dollar a mile while I make 70 cents and pay fuel maintenance insurance tolls vehicle cost plates etc? After seeing the inside rates, it's pretty disgusting IMO I'm good with giving away 30% for them to handle all the paperwork and phone calls but take any more...

Base rate...too complicated...we get whatever we can out of every load and I get proof of what was charged Had enough of a carrier collecting more than I make off a run

My last company was 50% unpaid deadhead. They had their own customers which paid well, but no paid deadhead and they didn't do back hauls very often. I lasted 4 months there after switching to a diesel sprinter, and that's staying too long!

You guys have me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. No payments, 2005 van, all the miles I want at rates you're discussing and above...and no he stopped hiring for now :p Now to convince the wife to let me work more than 3 days a week....

Just saw this thread. Lost power steering in my E350 at about 500,000 miles, replaced with Lucas and no more problems until I scrapped the van at 1,000,000 plus (not for steering). Useful to limp home with a blown differential as well
