ok, you drop your freight and send dispatch a QC mesage and let them know...you head over to the "J" and await your next load....dispatch lets you know you are 4th in line on a board that avg's 3 loads a day......you sit and wait.....30 hours later (your "dwell" time) you are still 3rd in...

this is a 1st in almost 2 yrs for me.....a 225 mile dh for a 157 mile LH...toledo to marietta ohio to youngstown ohio....but it pay over $.90 for ALL miles.....

You are going to sit with any and all carriers. The amount of time isn't always on the carrier either. Not taking weekends into consideration...i don't sit any longer then 36-40 hours total. I will Dh on my own dime to another area where there is freight and or an lesser # of our units sitting...

Ahhh I really hate to say this, but the companies don't care what the O/O buttom line is for the most part....if the driver turns it down , they put it back up and let others bid on it and they take their cut.....and in some cases, they will sell it off and pay the other company more then they...

1 situation to think about with this issue.. You are the O/O of 1 Cargo Van. You are signed on to haul freight with 3 different carriers (most won't let this happen by the way because of what they have in the lease agreement called "exclusive use" of the van) you get a load offer from company 1...
