    When I was 17

Appreciate the compliment Broom. As for how I did anything? You got a pretty good idea. Probably isn't much I do that doesn't have a level of risk associated with it.

Can't complain as we have been very fortunate. Got dealt a pretty good hand.

I am almost assuming you have no contract with this owner? I am also assuming you haven't read much here at EO. For new folks, this whole mess could have been avoided with just a little education reading through the forums. In this case, it is water under the bridge as now he is dealing...

    Government Sponsored Healthcare

I agree. This is where the intervention is needed. I hope it is a wave of things to come. I heard on the news that they are also being sued for dropping 1600 other people in CA for this kind of crap. A day couldn't come sooner to see this actually dealt with. The wife's dad who is a...

Hope you didn't buy that HD DVD

Ok....help me out here. Does that mean all movies will require this "Blue" technology to be watched? We have a HD wide screen but our DVD player isn't "Blue" anything.

    GEN/APU's

I think Espar has a coolant heater that one could use, but I'm not sure of the price. The winter fronts work when the truck is moving, but cardboard right on front of the radiator will be more effective as it also chops the airflow. Cheaper as well. Only a pain if you have a cabover. Then...

    Government Sponsored Healthcare

Take the bureaucratic red tape out of health care and it would be affordable to most. Combine that with private insurance that actually guarantees coverage, and the problem is solved. Woudn't hurt to put restraints on the free health care for immigrants and fraud. Don't need free health care...

    Comfort Pro APU BLUES!!!

I believe the new ones are having a few different exhaust options. I would have to think they could be retrofitted to an existing unit.

    Comfort Pro APU BLUES!!!

Well....we have got two years of pretty decent reliability. But I think the new Rigmasters have it beat. Even more so with the new serpentine drive systems. Pretty much eliminates all the belt issues which have plagued a lot of different brands. With the little cat engines, you can find service...

    PII Poll

With the boards properly defined in a manner that makes sense, and with the First Out BS out of the way, then the FIFO of the board will essentially be the same as dwell time, as people won't have to change boards very often at all. If they choose to change boards, they take their chances, but...

    Sprinter paint job

Well....you got Earl Sheib for $150 and Maaco for $500 for a standard van. Gotta be careful, you get what you pay for. Might be more economical to buy a new hood and just have that painted.

If your truck is staying too cold at idling, turn off the engine fan. If it isn't running (the fan), then grab a piece of cardboard and put it in front of the radiator. Dominoes pizza boxes worked well.

    Comfort Pro APU BLUES!!!

Bought one for much less than $9500, but it will be likely the last. We were lucky and only bought one. It hasn't done that bad but the Rigmaster or Onan are a much better choice. We bought ours in 06 and it lost a water pump, (covered under warranty) and blew the bearing out of the...

I would suggest as most have already to do your own mileage, and then decide if the run is worth taking. Most of the time we have called, the mileage has been corrected. When it isn't, we don't take it. As far as acceptance rates, I personally think they are a waste of time and cost. We stay...

    Info For A Tri-state Company!!!!!!!!

With regards to Panther backhauls , * Prior to February 18th, Panther will be adding a pre-delivery fuel advance program that ties the fuel only advance to the actual settlement period. Currently any pre-delivery advance is deducted the very next settlement period. With Panther’s backhaul...

    Info For A Tri-state Company!!!!!!!!

It isn't relevant to your questions and issues. But if you need to know, we have 4 trucks at Panther and have been in expediting 20 plus years with the last six with Panther.

Using Freight Brokers and UShip for back loads.

I personally wouldn't consider .50/.75 loads as expedite. Those are LTL. Or at least that is how I view them. But, you are right, it is amazing to see what some loads actually go for. "Desperate people do desperate things"

    Info For A Tri-state Company!!!!!!!!

I thought I was pretty specific in my post. When you PM'ed me about Deer Lake MN and sitting too long, I advised you relocate to Minneapolis. Short of driving the truck, I'm not sure what else I could have told you. Your other PM was with regards to operating the QC. I advised going to the...
