That is in the works and ongoing. Not as quickly as I would like. Finding the right quality people is not an easy task. The sales team does keep growing and we plan to keep going with that.

    Jacking truck prices up.

My expediters are primarily all owner operators, we have 2 local company straights that do cartage/contract work. I own about 50 company tractors and all of our trailers are company owned. So I watch and read on the equipment market a good bit.

    Jacking truck prices up.

I have seen it on our company trucks and trailers. We are getting almost the same trade in numbers now that we were offered on the same equipment a year ago. My point was the "good" side of the coin was that the current equipment that owner operators own has probably not dropped in value much...

    Jacking truck prices up.

Well I think the influx of new expediter straight trucks into the market has been very few the last few years. On the positive side current owners should see their residual or trade in values be almost equal to what they were a year or two ago as the market for used equipment gets stronger.

Again, no perfect answer here. They will relocate units based on what they are seeing. A lot of it is based on non scientific gut check, just like a lot of unpaid moves that the owner operators make. I think Turtle nailed it... just load everyone. :D

Ok, I misunderstood. Units must have moved themselves. Never sure what the fair answer to that situation ever is.

Not sure where you are seeing that number, but once upon a time the limit was I think 200. Companies were ok if they grew over that such as in the case of us and Express 1.

    Signing On With Multiple Carriers

If he has his own authority then he would be responsible for logs, safety, and insurance. Just broker all of his loads to him and pay him weekly. That would probably be the most legal way to do it. Now on the downside, some customers and most other carriers will not want their freight...
