    Fax Service

If you only need to receive faxes, and only on an occasional basis, then the free version of efax is definitely the way to go. I used to use it when I needed something sent to me. You just only need to download their software, as the fax comes in a special format read only by their software...

    Fax Service

I've been using Myfax for almost two years. Originally it was called Virtual Fax, by a company called Protus. We paid the 9.95 per month for a toll free number. Just send an email with a Word doc or pdf attached. Driver for 15 years O/O for 13 years Drive Safe! Jeff

Is it important for your carrier to be certified?

RE: Is it important for your carrier to be certifi A company, whether small or large has plenty to decide on. They must decide what licenses, certs, and/or hoop jumping actually does something to improve productivity, safety, as well as revenue. You have to decide what is necessary to play...

Is it important for your carrier to be certified?

RE: Is it important for your carrier to be certifi Well, you don't have to be ISO certified to have operating authority. There are businesses that run no trucks at all, but they have ISO certification. Lot of money for a small biz to do that. Drive Safe! Jeff

    Engine control light

Hi there. Most auto parts stores have a machine to read the trouble codes on your truck. Some have machines that will tell you even deeper info about the trouble. It will tell you what is triggering the light. If the light only flickers instead of being steady, it is almost assured that it...

    DEAD HEAD

It's not an issue of how much is deadhead. I run air freight P/u and delivery. Most of the times when I run a long hotshot, I deadhead back, at least into the normal delivery area. However, I probably average twice as much per loaded mile in a cargo van as most expedite companies pay a van...

    Union Update!

What would be the purpose of starting a union of expediters? Forcing your carrier to give you that 1500 mile run that he doesn't even have on his board instead of the 120 mile one that he does? It's like squeezing blood from a turnip. Chuckwagon, I do agree with the need for you to spend...

    In the Box

Years ago I ran a local route delivering pharmaceuticals. During the Florida summer heat, I could get pretty sticky from loading and unloading those totes. I never had any complaints, but I started carrying a small bottle of Adidas sports cologne with me in the truck. (Adidas is all about...

    2007 Ford E-350 DRW 10,000 GVWR

Personally, I hate backing ANY kind of van body up the ramp. Usually real narrow. Just remember, if you're backed up a ramp for more than just a few minutes, make sure not to just take off after you come down. All that tranny fluid goes to the front and needs a couple minutes to settle back...

    2007 Ford E-350 DRW 10,000 GVWR

Ok. I guess I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying that Ford was upping their 138" DRW chassis from 9600 to 10000 GVW. So how's that new truck workin' for ya? You get the itch to jack up the rear end on it yet? :) Drive Safe! Jeff

    Union Update!

Honestly Chuckwagon, I wonder if you are not STILL a steward, if not a union representative. You have really done nothing on this forum but to try and initiate some sort of rally for a union since you appeared. I have to ask, because you obviously know more about unions than you do the freight...

    2007 Ford E-350 DRW 10,000 GVWR

Hey Mark, Wasn't the GVW on the 138" chassis at 9600 last year? That might help some people out who want some sort of cutaway that stays under logging weight, while giving them a little more latitude, especially since GMC already has this option on its 158" frame. Drive Safe! Jeff

    We had to leave Panther...

Well, this IS Hino's first post. It's ok I guess for a first post to be a gripe, but Hino, you talk like everyone knows your situation, which makes me think this might be a new username for an old member? Most likely an OPW. Drive Safe! Jeff

    Union Update!

I don't understand why an independent business own would want to have his hand held by a union as the key to success. Isn't that the reason we ARE NOT employees driving a brown truck? The only reason a business owner needs a union such as the UAW is that he has no business plan by which to...
