Maybe since the Hinos are fairly new in the US they are just working out all the bugs. Like I said I've been happy with mine, ask me in three years when it hit's 350k or above if I still have the same opinion. I know Toyota makes awesome cars so maybe it's just a matter of getting all the bugs...

I know Volvo, Mack dealers work on them. My truck is leased through Penske, they service every truck, not sure if they work on none leased trucks, but worth checking out. They have shops all over the country and some are even 24 hrs, the one I use in Fort Wayne is open 6am to 11pm and they are...

Sterling, Hino, M2 or C112 straight truck

My Hino has an Allison auto, but with only 200 or so hp not sure it could handle a higher gear, i've slowed down to 30-35(usually 40-45) on hills with a load Like I said in other posts I wouldn't buy a Hino, I lease mine so it is different. Sounds like in the long run a class 8 is the way to...

    11' 8"....

Mileage is better then the other class 6 trucks out there, and I can make due climbing hills at 40 to 45 not many hills in Indiana, ohio, michigan anyways and those are my primary states I run. Just wish it wasn't turning 2200 rpm at 65, but since it a low horspower, low torque engine...

????S About leasing with two companies

What's the difference if you needed a day off and declined a load they wouldn't say anything, really if you were under load the other company doesn't need to know. It's none of there business as long as you have no forced dispatch As long as your making money for both and yourself

Sterling, Hino, M2 or C112 straight truck

Hino's are weak going up hills and such, in return i get 1 to 2 mpg better than a international or M2. One thing about the Hino, you'll be running near 2200 rpm at 65, might be the same for the others also unless you get into a class 8

Drove up I65 from Alabama to Indy, that road is brutal especially in Louisville,KY I was being thrown around, truck was doing the pogo stick at one point and I lost control for a second. Think my brain is shaken enough today. My straight truck has a stiff suspension, maybe they all do,maybe...

    500 miles range from Ohio

I'd start with a nice used Chevy or Ford gasser, those can be had for fairly cheap. Can always upgrade to Sprinter as funds allow. You can get into a used van for pretty cheap, Sprinters are pretty pricey to be starting out in. Just a thought :)
