    Some new drivers

I remember, not all that long ago, I had an attitude day. I deadheaded to SE Indiana from Ft Wayne on my nickel about 170 miles. When I was nearly there they called and said the load was not ready but would be ready in the morning. Next morning I got there and found they had measured the load...

    Boy am I happy

I'm glad you are glad. You mentioned all the things that bother me about this business and trucking in general. It's clear that expediting was not for you. There will always be a fly in the ointment in any career you may choose so you have to choose the ones that you can put up with. I enjoy...

The Thread You Can Use When You Need To

My daughter has a cute little fuzzy bunny that she brought with her when she returned home. It smells bad and it produces more little pellets than any three bunnies should. The voices in my head are telling me it would make a good stew.

    Sprinter temtress in yard

In a Sprinter, sometimes it doesn't pay at all but I'm still addicted to expediting. I miss my Freightliner some too but I think I'd miss it more if it had been a Kenworth. The durn thing just broke too much. Thankfully, my only real addictions are expediting and Doritos.

    Sprinter temtress in yard

I really do like the winter and driving in it doesn't bother me at all. Call me an idiot but I couldn't live where it's warm all the time. I like the seasons and I really don't like it when it gets real hot. When I retire for real, it's the U.P. for me. God's area code is 906 and I'd like to...

    Sprinter temtress in yard

I think the thing I miss most is waking up in the middle of the night needing to go to the john. It's January and the temp is in the single digits. The wind is blowing about 30 miles an hour and blowing snow and bits of ice up your pant legs. This is the night you found a parking place 300 yards...

    Needing Advice

I know lots of guys who can't possibly be running legal in "D" trucks and "TT"s because of the amount of paid miles they run. The only difference in vans is that we don't have to put it in writing and then sign it. I always felt that falsifying a federal document and then signing it was asking...

    New Group On EO

Obama scares the living daylights out of me but he is the president elect so I will support him until he actually does something that is detrimental for the country. Which brings me back to the scaring the daylights out of me part. It's sorta like going to the amusement park. Once you are on the...

    Industrys failing

Some plants are worse than others. I promised myself years ago that I would never buy an other Ford. Never, Ever, never, Nope, Nada. When will those zipperheads in the plants figure out that drivers who deliver there are potential customers and should be treated as human beings rather than be...

    Needing Advice

I lurked on here for many years and read everthing I could before I took the plunge. I drove for an owner for about 8 months and then bought my own class 7 "D" truck. I now own a Sprinter and I am semi-retired but considering a return to the business. The "D" truck is a better choice for a team...

Then there were my brothers, Bob 32nd Infantry- Korea 1951 to 1953. Bill 20 years Army, Vietnam 1967 to 1968. Dick, 3 years Army Anti...

    First Class?????

Even though I'm not really a newbie I think this is the best place for this thread. I'm seeking information about First Class Expediting. I did a search and got nothing so you folks are my last and best hope. Good? Bad? Indifferent?? Just beginning to noodle on this but all I can find is the...

    Some new drivers

I have worked for both. Some companies seem to remember when you take a looser load for the cause and some don't. I always took most loads and only turned them down if I was too tired or it was too far for me to do legally or safely in the time allowed. There is only one place I won't go and I...

Have You Hugged an EO Moderator Lately?

I appreciate the job the mods do but I do like my personal bubble of space as well. Hugging, especially the guy mods just isn't on my ajenda. I hope this isn't percieved as politically incorrect or too conservative. I'm just not into hugging guys. Perhaps if I took some classes to get in touch...

Law Enforcement believe Riots Will Happen

I hadn't thought much about this until today and then, here it is on EO. I was just mumbling something like this to myself as I was logging on. I mumble to myself a lot because nobody listens to my opinon anyway. Especially at home. Speaking of home, it just might me a good idea to stay there...
