Sometimes this occurs on the initial shift out of neutral, not necessarily the changing of forward to reverse. In any event, the adjusting of the clutch pedal to acitvate a bit sooner would probably do it.

As far as driving with this medication, I would talk to your physician. Better yet, talk to the DOT physician who did your physical last.

Have you checked with anyone besides Panther? Smaller carriers typically have less rules about solos than the big carriers. Check with Bolt and C&M. I've heard good things about both with solos. Since you're in the south, also check with DTH Expediters in Atlanta. They may have an owner.

Possibly a bit of water, or at least moisture? Never had a problem on a diesel, but on a gasser I had a big problem one time. If you stopped for a few minutes, whatever moisture that was in the line just before your filter would dry up from the heat. Then it would run fine.
