What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

*Sigh* I can never get past the grue. It's time to find a new game.

To Those of You Still Standing

That's a great idea that I never even thought about. It will be a lot cheaper than buying pre-filled gallons every week. Thanks! :)

To Those of You Still Standing

We drive for a fleet owner so we do not have the overhead that owning a truck has attached to it. We do, however, try to keep costs as low as we can for the owner, such as slowing down to improve mpg and making sure the tires are properly inflated. We keep a close eye, and ear, on the truck to...

Our owner had us move up to Jacksonville, FL from Ft. Pierce tonight, so we will see if that helps get us out of FL. I am enjoying the weather though. :D

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

I'm glad to have a nice comfy sleeper. It's our "home" and we spend most of our time in it for weeks at a time, and no I don't mean just sitting waiting for a load. :P We have a 19" LCD tv, DVD player, table with bench on each side that folds down and a full size bed w/inner spring mattress...

    APU any suggestions

We've had experience with several different ones on different trucks. The Carrier we had was great and we never had any problems with it. The Rigmaster we had was nothing but trouble from the start. The truck we are driving now has a PowerTech and we have only had a slight problem when our...

    panther II or express 1

I love that song Turtle! I have it on my mp3 player set to repeat! :p Very, very creative by the way. :D

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

We've been down the "nightmare owners from hell" road before, (long, sordid story best left untold) but the one we drive for now is wonderful. He's very involved with his business and his drivers, honest, friendly, fair and genuinely cares about those who drive for him.

    How happy are you?

I chose #2 because I would never close myself off to a new and better opportunity. We love what we do, but you never know what may come up in the future.

The launch was set for around 1:30am I think. I had figured we were too far away to see it so we went to bed before then. I don't know if it was launched or if it was delayed again.

    Two Questions (Could be controversial)

I think that is one of the biggest obstacles for anyone new to the business to wrap their head around, especially those who have always been "employees" and never operated their own business. Even though we are driving for an owner and the truck is leased on to a carrier, we are still...

    Is it offensive

It's not offensive to me at all. I actually own a beautiful silver .357 magnum that belonged to my grandfather. I let my dad keep it in his gun cabinet for safe keeping. He tried to get me to shoot it once when he was target shooting but I chickened out. I shot the .22 rifle instead. lol

    New York ideas please.

You can have all my NYC area load offers Charles. lol

What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

We just hauled 4 pallets of foam, color nude, that is used in making bras. The inspector at the border of FL gave me such a confused look when he asked me what was in my box and I told him foam. lol After looking at my BOL he kind of chuckled and wished me a good night. :D

    Question about express one

Hubby and I drive a 22' Hino ST and we have done fair the past 2 weeks. Last week we did 1,571 miles and this week we have done 1,319 so far. Unfortunately we are now sitting in Ft. Pierce, FL and the weekend is coming up. We are really hoping for a load out tomorrow but it doesn't sound...

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

My sentiments exactly, and I certainly wouldn't hold it against anyone who would refuse to haul what ever "it" may be if hauling it meant going against their own morals, beliefs, ect. Each person has to make their own decision about such things and not be influenced by the opinions of others.

    New York ideas please.

The NYC area (including Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island, Manhattan and any other areas around there I haven't listed) is one part of the country that we will not go to. Our owner knows this and he is fine with our decision. We gladly let someone else have those loads.

We are in Ft. Pierce, FL. We delivered this morning to West Palm Beach. I was hoping to be closer to Cape Canaveral so I could see the shuttle launch tonight, but I think we are too far away. At least the weather is really nice! :D
