No. We got offered that load with Panther but it had 1805 on the miles. We turned it down because it was dispatched yesterday for a today pickup. We instead took one from the same area down to Laredo that picked up right away. Not sure what carrier you are with?

    Load 1 Florida office ?

With the trucks that were let go, there were several other issues outside of that. Primarily borrow money and safety issues. We turn down anything that isn't profitable. Maybe we are lucky and haven't been shown the door yet.;) If one doesn't like what they offer they can always book their own...

North Carolina voters reject same-sex marriage.

After reading these posts I can certainly see why Obama flipped. With this much talk about gay marriage, he is banking on people forgetting everything else he screwed up. First it was women rights, then the Martin case, and now you have this. It almost funny if it wasn't their planned agenda.

Probably because they are a small company. Can't speak to your situation but I would likely make a visit in person. If that produces nothing then it gets turned over to an attorney.

North Carolina voters reject same-sex marriage.

I would agree. Kinda killed Obama's argument that Romney flip-flops on everything. Gee..... now they both do. Obama has been flipping on things since he has been in there.

Well....as predicted, Obama now says today that he supports gay marriage.

North Carolina voters reject same-sex marriage.

It currently is an issue that is decided by the states. But make no mistake that this could turn into a Federal issue. Primarily because some states would recognize it, and some won't. That will be followed by more wasteful spending for years on arguing about it. Just don't have the money...

North Carolina voters reject same-sex marriage.

It may be a radical change from the moral stand point, but to what degree? My daily life is effected little regardless of what they do. I am not doing anything different that would be perceived as accommodating them. Look at the bright side, if they get married, then the way the current tax...

North Carolina voters reject same-sex marriage.

I'm not trivializing it, but I don't think government should be spending time and money on it right now. It is nothing more than a distraction from much bigger problems.

    Load 1 Florida office ?

I think the biggest reason is undercapitalization. Some are surviving on a load by load basis and that creates this kind of situation. Some of it driver driven, and some is carrier driven depending on what their policies are. Acceptance ratings, first outs, being "blackballed" for not accepting...

North Carolina voters reject same-sex marriage.

With all the problems that are going on, this is hardly the place to be spending time and taxpayer money to fool with it. Too much attention and efforts should be spent on other things. This is right up there with states (2) spending thousands to ban school bake sales and Girl Scout cookies...

    Load 1 Florida office ?

That is the very reason I lease to Panther. I am basically paying 15 percent of what I book for your described services. If I do it myself, my costs will be very close to the 15 percent when it is all said and done. As for the east coast, I think that may be a carrier specific issue. We do...

You would likely be better served to find a truck specific to expediting.

Fuel efficiency means less money for roads..

Yep....bicycle paths, Am-track, and "green" buses take a big bite out of the budget.

Fuel efficiency means less money for roads..

I would be opposed to any tax increase. The money can be found by cutting the waste like transferring 500m out of the energy dept that was used and wasted for Solyndra. Giving the government more money only creates another way for them to keep it and pay themselves or waste it. As things set...

    2010 vs 2012

2010 was a decent year. Comparing to 2012 at this point is about a draw. Revenue is considerably higher but equipment and fuel costs burn the difference pretty quick. This is just looking at straight trucks. Still should be a pretty good year unless the Panther sale throws a wrench in there.

    LRT, Landshark, or Errands 1st

Have to agree. A van could work for one individual as we see here on EO, but as a fleet owner, the ROI just isn't there for me to justify it. I can't imagine trying to hire van drivers. Seems like it would be a totally different mindset.
