    Companies that run distances

Wow. I log onto EO today only to discover I am generally stupid, not sensible and unsafe. Driving 32 years without a single accident. I always get adequate sleep. Won't make the mistake of posting numbers on this site again. Sheesh.

Justice Roberts: Scene at State of Union 'very troubling'

Obama will rue the day he called out the Supreme Court. Unbelievable.

Obama wins 2012 with third party help

It doesn't have to be a conservative. As a proponent of conservatism, I merely hope it is a true conservative. Middle-of-the-road types are hopelessly lost and confused, in my estimation. Arlen Specter comes to mind. Pure opportunist.. devoid of any real values. People want to know what...

    2011 Nissan NV

Saavy? I think you meant savvy. I don't suppose Nissan makes a diesel engine for cargo vans. The Ford E350 Extended can haul 3 standard pallets (42x48). Yes, it's a new entrant into the cargo van market, but size and strength matter.

Obama wins 2012 with third party help

Unfortunately, the electoral college set-up favors the Democrats. BIG TIME. Democrats need only win California, New York, Illinois, Florida and a smattering of upper-Midwest states. Such a coalition ensures Democratic victory. Since the electoral college is based on proportional...

Obama wins 2012 with third party help

I agree with you, Turtle, about the sudden emergence of a viable third-party candidate in the event of a catastrophic event. Something like DEFCON4. I'm not sure we Americans want to become like Israel or some European countries where they are so politically fractured, a candidate can win...

Obama wins 2012 with third party help

We can always hope the Left runs a third-party candidate as well. Someone like Ralph Nader. Nader helped Bush get elected. I would donate$$$ to a 3rd party Leftist just to cause chaos on the Left. Obama isn't divine. He is totally defeatable. The GOP needs a very strong candidate this time...

DaveKC... a surge in van numbers is what I fear most. It has been a killer in past busy seasons.

    Tri-state vans

Exactly. I gain enough time for plenty of naps on long runs. Adaptation to long periods of driving is mostly psychological. Keeping a positive attitude and pacing one's self make a huge difference. Complaining doesn't pay the bills. Negativity defeats many before they even get started. Eat...

    Tri-state vans

Thank you, Piper. My $4500 van grosses approx $6000 per month on average. I have difficulty convincing Sprinter owners this is a good ROI. To each his own, I suppose. My van has 260,000 miles on the 7.3L Powerstroke. I won't need another van til it reaches about 700,000 if past history is...

    Tri-state vans

Indeed, there was lots of DH. I came home from Garland,TX. My wife tolerates this crazy lifestyle, so when she asks me to come home, I go. Lots of family business as well. Visited with my son who is in the USMC. Another thing, I sat for 5 days in Laredo in January. I will never do that...

    Tri-state vans

Like I mentioned, this was an anomaly. Normally, I run approx 7000 loaded miles per month. I go home alot, if the opportunity presents itself. I never, never run sleepy. I can operate when tired. But, never when sleepy. Naps help alot as well. I pull over and nap as needed.

    Spontaneous combustion

So, I am driving near Roswell,NM early Sunday morning and my instrument gauges start acting funny. "Just tired"... I tell myself and disregard the gauges. Continuing on my way, everything seems fine... except I sense I am being followed. Casually, in the early morning dawn, I notice a...

    diplomatic immunity

These United States are held together by threat of force by the Federal government. If even one state tried to form a breakaway republic, the Feds know an avalanche of wannabe independent states would follow suit. It is entirely conceivable at some point ... political critical mass will be...

    On Hold Record Shattered

I part I parted ways with P2 after being placed on terminal hold one too many times. If I do not matter to them, they don't matter to me. My vans run for smaller carriers now. This arrangement works better for me.
