    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

Well that is almost like setting up a new carrier every time you do a load? If we give a carrier 5 loads a day should we have to do this....no it isn't our job. Imagine if brokers or customers had to do that with the hundreds of trucks we operate? They would be like WTH??? So no it's not...

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

A broker doesn't can't see the sub policies and they would not be named or addition insured. They aren't even signing the contract.

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

They might also press their insurance agent and carrier harder. I am sure an owner operator wants insurance at a good rate. But if it isn't going to cover a loss and he could lose everything he and his family has worked for....then they paid for nothing. That is not what most owner operators...

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

A lot do monitor. But when the carrier doesn't ensure all their vehicles such as the multi's we don't have a way of seeing or monitoring the sub policy which may or may not cover depending. So often they are not valid or correct policies and coverage would be denied in the event of an accident...

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

A traditionally insured carrier that covers one unit or all its units itself is pretty easily monitored through some of the third party monitoring companies that brokers like us use.

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

Not really. Single authority vans would be fully insured on the one policy and their would be no sub policies or any of that. They would be a "traditional" model carrier. I personally don't think anyone's goal is to wipe out the single vehicle carrier that is properly insured. They generally...

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

No law that says an insurance company has to notify anyone of cancellation or change. So that is not a for sure. People think it is, but it isn't.

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

Off the internet: DSCN0475.JPG It’s amazing how few business owners know the distinction between being a Certificate Holder on a vendor or sub contractor’s policy, and being an Additional Insured. There is a clear, and measurable difference between these two Certificate of Insurance functions...

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

The OO is not the one who is contracted to the customer or shipper. They are not named as additional insured and they have no way of knowing or monitoring the insurance. As the one providing the insurance you actually have no idea what your carrier agreed to with the customer or broker. That...
