Nostradamus Prediction about a charismatic leader !!

    What is Cheap Freight, Really?

When I was with Thompson we ran a lot of "corridor" freight. Detroit to Toronto. As time went on, I saw a sharp decline in loads that had a next day delivery. Other companies began specializing in next day LTL. A truck would spend the day on one end delivering and loading and take it to the...

    New Harvard Study On Iraq

Robsdad has shown how state of the art liberals debate. When they can't keep up, they resort to name calling and a veiled reference to physical violence. Face to face, too funny. We can only wonder how Rob turned out with a role model like that.

Nostradamus Prediction about a charismatic leader !!

This is pretty heady stuff. You know, Turtle rhymes with Myrtle. So, will Turtle marry a woman named Myrtle? Will Turtle play golf in Myrtle Beach? If it's the golf, I'd advise Turtle to go up to Wrightsville Beach. It's cheaper and the courses are awesome.

one week is all you got

You'll have a tough time finding any instances of someone being advised to sign on with a particular carrier here. None of us would want to go out on that kind of limb. I may know a guy with JoeBob's Trucking who's doing great with a tractor. So I tell you that's where you should go. But, for...

    Fleet owner observation

This is the post I've been expecting to see on this subject. The one where Phil says he really does know the answer to the question HE posed, and everyone else is an idiot. The question I have is, what difference does it make how ROI is calculated? The fact is, I spent a lot of money on my truck...

    Fleet owner observation

Dabluz, I asked the question about the proportion of reward because you stated that it wasn't right. Sounded like you had some specific percentages in mind. O.K...., so, proportion of risk? Well, the fleet owner is turning over his asset that's worth thousands of dollars to someone that's, most...

    Fleet owner observation

The only way everyone would lose everything in a failed expediting endeavor is if they put everything at risk. The rich folk you speak of would probably pay cash for the trucks and in the event of failure would sell the trucks and get out. There's no one that comes and takes everything you have...

    Fleet owner observation

It sounds like Dablusman has a classic case of class envy. If someone doesn't want to deal with "the Man", the solution is simple. Buy your own truck. Can't swing that? Do something else. We all guide our own destiny. If you're with a bad owner, find another. Dave's not the only good one out...

    It Depends On....

Good post Rev. I couldn't agree more, and that comes from 8+ years in a cargo van. This would be a good one to anchor in Newbies for a while.

    Truck GPS

Mine hasn't tried to put me on a parkway, but nothing would surprise me. I really don't see much value in the truck setting, but I haven't run it in car mode to compare. It has put me on restricted residential streets.

    60/40 revisited?

When P2 brokers out a load, it's put out for bid. E1, or any one else, has no obligation of any sort. They are free to bid what they see fit. P2 is going to accept a bid that will make them a couple of bucks. As far as major and minor customers, I think that a small volume customer would...

    Canada Crossing the border!!!!

True, true, true!! Also, addresses of shipper and consignee, weight and packaging(# of skids), and description of the freight. This is basic stuff. The driver ABSOLUTELY should read the invoice to make sure the basic info is there. Sorry Alborada, but your Hubby shouldn't have let this happen.
