Not sure I agree with "no incentive" argument. Their incentive SHOULD be to retain the driver(s). Driver morale is a big incentive. When drivers FEEL exploited or unappreciated they tend to look for "greener pastures", so to speak. No one likes to work for free, and not many will for very long...

Perhaps you shouldn't be paid on 1099. Its a different mindset.

Since I reside in Alabama, I cannot offer any thoughts on rates in NC, but I do know that rates vary in different areas. Don't go on what you " heard ", get a few quotes and then compare. Good luck. BTW, I'm paying $525 for WC in Alabama

Price is important, but correct size/fit is more important About the same, IMO I have replaced several over the years in my various trucks, for various reasons. Mostly due to damage from another component failure. Once because the plastic on top became brittle after about 7 years of use...

Like Daffy said, there could very well be more than 1fleet owner in Knoxville. And more than one fleet owner from other carriers as well. I'm sorry you're in a bad situation, but broad accusations and vague descriptions helps no one. Good luck to you.
