HOW do big rig drivers do it?

So, let me get this straight... You're on here complaining about people who are on here complaining about people. Dude, that's heavy.

    New update

The bar on the bottom... Really?? Isn't there enough already? It kinda sucks. I'm using Firefox and everything is smooth. Load times are good right now, but can be sluggish at times.

Sorry, can't take it any more

For "a" or "an', for the most part, if it sounds right it probably is right. A while back I saw someone post something about "an Freightliner". How in the world do you do that and not realize that it sounds stupid?

    Shore Power

I think Idleair is still around $2 an hour, a bit too much, IMHO. I think an inexpensive electric only service would do well. A lot of us have our trucks outfitted with what Idleair offers and cost effective electricity to save on generator time would be great.

    Canada QEW Fifth Wheel TruckStop

A truck stop on lakefront property? I always found that a bit strange. Seems like they could sell to developers and make some coin.

Food for Thought RE Hours of Service

I've hauled freight that's been expedited for a variety of reasons, but never, ever, because a shipper just couldn't find someone to haul it. It just stands to reason that we'd being hauling this type of freight on a regular basis if it were happening. The "driver shortage" is a myth. Musical...

Food for Thought RE Hours of Service

I can't imagine that there's anyone that heard about the 34 reset and said, "Wow, that's what I needed. I'm getting into trucking!" Along the same lines, I can't imagine anyone deciding to get out because it's getting tweaked. I'm sure there will be folks that just get tired of changes. We...

Getting Freight; What do the Busy Drivers Do?

I'm not talking about the rate, it's the incompetence of some of the people there. One example... I arrived at a shipper, only to be told that freight had been given to another carrier. I called headquarters, my dispatcher called NLM. At first, NLM said that wasn't possible. When they finally...

Getting Freight; What do the Busy Drivers Do?

LOL... Well, from where you sit that may be the case. Having to run their freight... well, that's a whole different kettle of fish. I'm so glad I have to do very little of it.

Food for Thought RE Hours of Service

If you truly love what you're doing, I can't imagine this being enough to change your mind. I think it's just another case of folks being sure that "this" will be the straw that brings down the industry. Trucking first got on my radar as something I wanted to do for a living in the early 70s. I...
