    Ernie Harwell

At 92, it was amazing he lasted as long as he did. Seeing him months ago, he looked very sick and I was surprised at how much he slowed down. He took advantage of his limited time and never looked down at his cancer but I think the news outlets here went a bit overboard over it - one station...

    Hino Brake Problems

I had the same problem, it wasn't an adjuster but the cam follower pins on the brake shoes. I lubed the follower pins with a good synthetic grease (not a lot) and it hasn't happened since. Make sure you also check your clevis pins and use anti-seize on them. Lube the Brake Cam too.

GM, brokered freight and a lawsuit

Actually there is a bigger question. Is GM entitled to actually filing a law suit for damages? This happened before the bankruptcy, not after and because all bad assets and debts were shifted to the old GM in order for them to 'start fresh', this should have gone with the old GM and that...

    CSA 2010 and vans

SO Turtle, has Panther put in writing that you are not to worry about this? I know mine and another one has said vans are being covered by their policies because it covers the driver not the vehicle.

    Ta/Petro PM services

Dave, There is no "NO" so NO I don't use them. The last time, they didn't grease the Throwout Bearing or the Ujoints They didn't tighten the fuel filter which vibrated loose on I95 in rush hour in NYC They didn't check the coolant quality. I have had to provide them with the fuel filter...

    CSA 2010 and vans

Michigan is a funny state, they are talking again about enforcing the sign regulations for all commercial vehicles, which will be a nightmare. They already have cut back on enforcement of a lot of laws, and target the trucks a bit more. Commercial vehicles are vehicles used for commercial...

    amazing discount

Guido, I wonder what the options were on the Spartan and the curb weight too. I found one at a liquidation sale a month ago that was 10k gvw but the truck was heavy, leaving me with less than 2200lbs for cargo.

    Pets and Customers

Nah you don't need to resort to the spray collars, good patients training is all you need. It isn't like you live in a house with 4 people who do their own thing with the dog but rather you are alone with it 24/7 which helps a lot. You don't have etrack?

What? You don't own the van? Well you can always claim you got a run to Area 51 and something happened when you were sleeping.

    All state express

Act of God and traffic is out of our control, as are road side inspections and delays at the shipper. Regardless no carrier can guarantee perfect on time delivery for all shippments, and even when the shipper requests the service, their paperwork explains the risk they take. If I'm late...

    Pets and Customers

If the dog is trainable, train it to stay in a crate or carrier silently. I have seen one van driver who put the crate below the bed and covered it up with the blanket. Never had an issue. Food processing plant, Food package suppliers and Pharma companies have strict rules on animals, get...

    Truckstops and cleanliness

Diva, But isn't it how we in general are viewed? I mean a lot of people accept the poor food handling and the other BS that we all face at these truck stops as the norm. I only remember a few times when a trucker would complain about something other than the speed of the people behind the...

    Texas drivers

You alway know Detroit drivers, busted mirrors and paint scratches on the side of the car where they either hit a barrier pole at Churches fried chicken or where they were trying to pass someone at a traffic light.
