I agree - Expediter Services is a great place to start in this industry for new people. Without any question - a straight truck has many advantages over a sprinter van, especially if you are running a team.

I don't know of any Canadian based expedite carriers that have trucks domiciled on the east coast - specially PEI, and Nova Scotia. I know there is US expedite freight traffic in-bound to that area. I'd wonder if an EO'ers can speak to getting outbound freight from this area.

..and this is why you want a carrier that has a good customer base - not just access to a load sharing board. If the option to find a load via broker is the first benefit that a carrier tells you - buyer beware. IMHO.

"Not like it used to be" - I guess it's all perspective. When I started in this business 1993 - there were only a handful of carriers. Choice of carriers were very, very limited.

Has this project been over or under budget from what you expected? (It's been great following your success!!)

I stopped by the Women in Trucking booth at MATS this year. Wow! This organization has really come along way! When this group was first started - I believe the Expedite Expo was either their first or second show to exhibit at. They have definitely brought awareness to their group and cause...

A few quick observations on the show in Louisville this year. One of the things I always look for at shows like this is for products that can be used for straight trucks and sprinters/cargo vans. This year I don't think I saw anything new at all, if anything a reduction on items available...

Agreed and Wow.:( I can see how easy it is to get cynical, especially under the current administration - but at the very least, let's show support to people from our own circles who are trying to make a difference.
