    CSA 2010 Question

Isn't there a law against making any laws retroactive? It seems going back 3 years is in effect doing just that. You are being penalized for something you did three years ago that at the time did not know would be used against you when a new law took affect.

    CSA 2010 Question

How did you rack up so many points? Failure to obey a traffic control device is only 5 points x3= 15. Who came up with these numbers? A turn signal bulb out is 6 points. Smoking within 25 feet of a hazmat load is only 1 point. Operating a CMV without a CDL is 3 points. Brake violations...

    CSA 2010 Question

I wonder if the carriers are going to realize how ridiculous some of this is becoming? Will they get rid of a driver over a burned out tail light? How many points will a carrier let you have and will they look at what the points are for? It seems that there are a lot worse offenses then a...

    CSA 2010 Question

Moose. We already have pre pass. They were bringing everyone in. A-Team. Agree with all you said. My wife just told me that after we were reinspected and she went into the office to get her license the CHP Officer told her there would be no citation and no points. Apparently the guys...

    CSA 2010 Question

I-10 in Banning, CA. And it was a complete level 1 including log book, med card and anything else you could think of. 30 minutes waiting to get in. 60 minutes for the inspection. 10 minutes to change the bulb and 5 to get a reinspection and the sticker. What really upsets me is it was working...

    CSA 2010 Question

Yes. On the Driver/Vehicle examination report. He also put us OOS for 15 minutes while I changed it, then reinspected, gave us a window sticker and sent us on our way.

    Things I Like about FECC

I like that we get paid something for every mile we drive. I would not like working for a company that wants me to deadhead for free. If FedEx sends me somewhere for a delivery they will pay me to deadhead to the express center or to the next pick up. I really do not care what the loaded miles...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

We see a lot of those offers too. But we do not take them. I thought that they were getting those off the bid boards to try and offer more freight to keep the trucks moving. We did take a load to Florida once at 88 cents all miles but that was just to get home. It delivered within 100 miles...

Would you use a Expedite Broker

I enjoy reading Phil's posts and some of his blog entry's. He is well written and insightful. I don't always agree with what he says. But isn't that the purpose of this sight. To share information and ideas. Wouldn't it be nice if we were all as succesful in our endeavors as Phil? I bet he...

Flying J no Showers in future

In the last two years we have used the T/A showers 90% of the time. With the exception of a few of the older locations they have been nice enough to get the job done without grossing us out and we have not picked up and diseases or foot fungus' from using them. They are by no means as nice as a...

New Looking to learn about Expediting

We once drove for a fleet owner who paid us 60% and he kept 40% of everything. (FSC, tolls and additional labor). But he paid for everything except fuel. And I do mean everything. The only thing we ever paid for was fuel. We got the 45% loaded onto our fuel card at pick up and the rest when he...

And I'm sure the carriers will charge it back to the driver and probably add an administrative fee for checking it.
