    Starting Out

The requirement of 90% availability is asking a lot. That only gives you 3 guaranteed days off a month,so don!t get sick, have breakdowns, get tired etc. I think 75-80 % is a lot more realistic.

    HOS REGS

I just read that land Line article about the Conway Lady that had a long wait to get unloaded in Long Island NY and could not run her engine for heat. When the new rules go into effect she may have had to wait an additional 10 hours before she could get warm,or buy a Motel room.Last Saturaday a...

    NEW AND CLUELESS

You said you couldn!t handle a stick shift. Nowadays many D units have full Allison Automatics or Eaton Auto Shifts where you only use the clutch when you start or stop. Also the standard Fuller Eaton 6 speed does not require double clutching like the big trucks do,so think about that. You can do...

What kind of annual Gross can a "D" unit expect to

RE: What kind of annual Gross can a Well your numbers sound good but my friend you are not going to run 140 hours every week. You are assuming that when you get unloaded you will be immeadiately dispatched on another load. That doesn!t happen. You may have to wait 1-3 days even with a team to...

Grrrrrrrrrr.. bit in the medical card....

One of the things I have read about high BP is that it is always worse in the morning. When you have been in a horizontal position all night you blood is distributed evenly throughout your body. Then when you get out of bed gravity causes your blood to flow to the lower half of your torso. At that...

Exp. freight in Memphis and Little Rock ?

Base on where you said you live ,deadheading up to St Louis or Cape Giradeau MO would probably be better. Most freight out of Memphis and Northern MS goes north and in many instances requires a team.
