8.3 cummins choking out going uphill

Sounds like a fuel pressure issue. As mentioned, change the fuel filters. Any truck stop can do that. Either it has been awhile between changes, one is collapsing, or you bought bad fuel.

    Other drivers killing us!

All of that may be true, but that isn't what you see. Remember, "watch what they do, not what they say". Don't see driver rates going up anywhere. I think they will scrap the bottom as they are currently doing until they can't scrap anymore. As if it was yesterday, carriers used to have a 5...

    Other drivers killing us!

Possibly, but I think they are hoping and praying the immigration/amnesty bill passes. A carriers dream. Cheap labor and no driving record.

    Other drivers killing us!

Might have started. I stopped at West Memphis, AR last week and that description fit quite a few there. Carriers that aren't paying anything can't be too surprised at that finding.

    Other drivers killing us!

I would imagine their own people. Don't see many reefer loads show up on Sylectus.

    Other drivers killing us!

If reefer loads are going for a dollar a mile, aren't you suppose to haul two or three of those at a time?

Most of the liberals whining are from DC. They think a rodeo in Texas is a Klan rally.

    Official APU Thread: What Brand?

Ok...I guess I am not understanding. We carry a couple of gallons of anti-freeze and that should have been enough to top of the engine with the valves closed. No answer on the AC. If they said they fixed it, I guess it would depend at what temp it was blowing at the vent. If not between 55 and...

    Official APU Thread: What Brand?

How would it shut you down? You should have valves up at the engine/cab that shut off the coolant in the event of a leak. If not, I would put them on. Cheap insurance and easy to install. On the AC, it sounds like low freon or dirty condensor. In Laredo at 107 outside it cooled the inside to...

    Official APU Thread: What Brand?

That is who did our install there in Columbus on the last one. 8500 (including install) and they used bentz duct work so the ac blows out the top vents. Seems to work pretty good and trouble free so far. Only thing outside of oil changes is having them change the belts. So far so good.

    Official APU Thread: What Brand?

The million dollar question is whether there is a good one? Haven't found it so far. That is going from Rigmaster, Proheats, Thermoking, and yes Onan. Onans are ok IF you do your own service work. If not, there are places to work on them (rv dealers & cummins) but seldom do they get you in right...

    Interesting article on XPO

I would probably disagree with you. Of course there are some cases where some may hang on as long as they can, but not the norm. Case in point with XPO, just about every fleet owner I know that was there has left when they cut their pay. Not really a debatable item. For me personally, I never...

    The Hillary Express, now boarding

If Hillary was to win, the downward spiral will continue. She couldn't even run the state department. That disaster speaks volumes of her capabilities.

    Interesting article on XPO

Since they cut their drivers rates, are you saying they are smiling while picking your pocket? As far as anything else, I go with the "watch what they do, not what they say".

Very bad. Not giving some of that back to the government means "you aren't doing your fair share".

    New starter installed today

Seems like you got off ok. Usually it is three hundred for the starter, three hundred for labor, $100 for tax, $100 environmental tax, and $200 for "shop supplies". ;)
