    Not such a Fantastic idea

Obviously, the group size matters for the starting battery, but does it for a house battery, I.e. do they need to match? I will be installing a 1500-watt inverter to run a microwave and to keep items such as my laptop charged, as well as possibly a 22" HDTV. I'm OK with having the van running...

Does any truckstop have decent internet?

I need data on my phone because that's how I get tracked; much cheaper than a Qualcomm :) ; also a few other things to keep track of on the road, such as weather. For personal surfing, WiFi is much better; it's unlimited, usually much faster than 3g, and it's better to sit in a climate...

I love my van, just like the Lone Ranger loved Silver; she's a faithful steed. Honestly, though, I want a Transit so bad I can almost taste it :p Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

    Not such a Fantastic idea

The starting battery is really only designed to do just that: start the truck. I also charge my phone, Bluetooth, iPod and GPS off the ports in the dash. These are small items, and have never caused an issue. A fan is another issue. Also what may have hurt me is the fact that I had the windows...

    Not such a Fantastic idea

Silly me, I thought that if a Fantastic Fan only draws 3 amps, I could safely wire it to my starting battery. Wrong! Thank God a Pilot employee came out for a smoke a bit ago. He took pity on me with my cables in my hand, and jump started me. As I type, the van has been idling for 45...

'Ey, wot's this under me van?

Maybe a control unit for the ABS? Now I gotta know! I'm coming up on an oil change soon, I'll ask the folks at the Ford dealer when I do that. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

    Where to go?

Been to E.P. twice. One load, for Prestige, went to Greeneville, Tn. 1500+ at .50 :banghead: One more, 406 mi to Nogales, for Jung. That one paid .75 or so. Enough to DH back to E.P. Then on to Dallas on my own dime. So yeah, no fan of El Paso here. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums...

'Ey, wot's this under me van?

No. I don't think it's a compressor, either; I've never heard it pump. Alas, it isn't air ride, either :( Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

'Ey, wot's this under me van?

Found this under my van; anyone know what it is? I wonder if it's a piece of emissions equipment. 2009 Ford E250, 4.6 engine. Item is in the spare tire area. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

If the Star Trek "beaming" deal really worked, I'd trade places with you. Jersey to me is 90 minutes from home. 'Course, you'd be in Arkansas :p Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

    Future Sprinters

I would imagine that they would use a narrow tire and rim, that have the weight capacity of the heavier-rated tire. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

    August 8, 1974

I was 15, so you can imagine my priorities ;) . I thought it was the only thing he could do. OTOH, I supported Gerald Ford's decision to pardon Nixon; getting over it was the best thing to do. There were other issues we needed to contend with in 1974. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums...

Got my paws on the Ford Transit

OK. Scale ticket: Door tag: Steer: 3240. 3550. Drive: 2980. 5520. Sum: 6220 GVW 8900 Spare (80 lbs) is right behind passenger seat. Looks like I should hang it underneath like the Lord and Henry Ford meant it to be. That means buying the mount for $200 plus, because...

The dog days of summer: AUGUST!

Depends on the circumstances; I've had two TONU's in the last three weeks. One was a cancelation; I got $20 for having driven 15 miles. The other was shipper error (4410' on a van? Hell no); I got $50 for a trip of 28 miles. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app

The dog days of summer: AUGUST!

Typically, about $20-25, unless the deadhead to pickup was a long way. Then you get more. Doesn't pay at the same rate as a run, but you should be able to cover your fuel, etc. Sent from my XT1028 using EO Forums mobile app
